By a real life bus driver, yeah, why not? I like to make fun of things related to my work experience found in fiction. Now does this need internet attention in an news article? Probably not. Slow news day for Comicbook.com it seems.

    They're total bros, yes.

I work in IT and I guess the equivalent would be me critiquing and making fun of scenes in the movie Hackers. Shang-Chi's bus scene is in no way as bad as the "two people typing away on the same keyboard to hack the criminals" scene in that singularly infamous episode of NCIS, though.

I’m honestly good either way, but I won’t lie Katy is a breath of fresh air and I really dig her awkward but earnest personality.

He better have his giant purple pants, or there will be hell to pay! :p

Yeah, especially as they could have still gotten James Hong to play him... He is amazing.
I saw Kung Fu Hustle, forgot that scene with the rings. Yeah maybe they got it from there.

I think it is different, as the Mandarin's magic is really just science we puny humans cannot understand yet. However, I get it - with Robert Downey Jr. they lost Iron Man and the chance to do a whole magic vs technology thing with them. Hell, we never even got MODOK in the MCU and Tony is gone... sad. The MCU has so many lost opportunities.
Hung Gar style? Huh, guess Hun-Gurrr has a whole martial arts named after him! ;)

Glad it was cut. It's your utter cliche "redemption by death" TV Trope where the writers are lazy and cannot think of anything to do with a redeemed villain, so they kill them off right away. And I am glad Razor Fist survived to stick around and prove himself.

Watched it on Friday night with the wife now that it's available for streaming.

Wife loved it, put it par with Black Panther.

I thought it was ok. I have no attachment or knowledge of the character reading comics in the 80s to mid 90s so no nostalgia scratch that needed to be itched.

I like Simu Liu and thought the line "I'm not Korean" was a nice nod to Kim's Convivence.

I'm familiar with Mandarin and wasn't thrilled with the way the "rings" were handled. I would have preferred each have their own power, but like others said, it'd be too similar with the Infinity Gems.

Not a bad film, but nothing really stood out for me.

As a person that teaches Math, let me just say sometimes a number is a number.

But if Chinese audiences, or the Chinese Government, is going to get upset about numbers appearing in films, then its just further evidence that maybe that market isn't worth the effort. They ended up twisting the Star Wars movies into a pretzel to try to make them appealing to Chinese audiences and they ended up spitting out a real mess that didn't make money in China anyways.

Honestly, the best thing Hollywood can do in the future is to say "Fuck China". It's not worth bending over backwards for with all their censorship among other things, but I should probably stop there.

No fear of that. It was quite a popular film in the West which set the record in the US for Labor Day weekend opening box office. It'll be remembered as a fun, colorful superhero film with a powerful emotional core & that proudly put Chinese culture on the big screen (or as another dumb action film, all to their own).

What even are the controversies? There really hasn't been anything but a dictatorship not liking being critiqued. Echoing what's been said above, what you'd hope will come of this & the Eternals is that Hollywood will get over the Chinese market fixation & stop affecting their filmmaking trying to satisfy a government with such hr violations (I'll stop there for the sake of rule #3).

Also we shouldn't support the suppression. It's not right. If they are offended, so be it.
