I’m not concerned about spoilers. I wouldn’t be in the thread if i was! I just find it slightly jarring considering we have no proof whatever the information passed on is genuine and it’s dominating the conversation and to who’s benefit? The person claiming to have the info.

I apologise if I’m wrong , my instinct was it reeks of attention seeking.

 

Yes, we have no proof. Everything being said could be fake. Again, that's the nature with any kind of unofficial information. I still don't think there's anything wrong with discussing leaks like that, especially since there's not much official info to go off of.

Even ignoring "leaks" and "rumours," ROTB just isn't looking so hot on the surface:

Year delay from a studio with a pretty poor track record, overstuffed plot of five factions needlessly complicating a conflict that has so still not be properly developed in the "new universe" (regardless of if you see BB as a prequel or reboot, the Decepticons are not yet properly established as a whole under this new direction) a plot that threatens to be another macguffin fetch quest, and a human element that seems poorly realized and almost tacked on. (though some would consider that a positive, it contributes to the idea that this movie doesn't know what it is)

I'm holding out judgement until we see a trailer. This may be a huge surprise and a legendary turnaround in film history... but what are the chances of that, honestly? Transformers is not high art, it's not got the greatest reputation, and it's slowly devolving into the same song-and-dance of production troubles that have produced so many stinkers in Hollywood lately. Delays are rarely good, and for every Fury Road there's a dozen Justice Leagues and TLKs. Not trying to say "abandon all hope" but I would seriously temper expectations. This has all the makings of another Bay-style mess trying to tick every box and failing.

That's a great plot idea, AB. Seems sadly the film-makers are revisiting that whole attempt-to-save-their-PR-image writer's room shtick for the umpteenth time. . .IF I see this movie, this further solidifies I ain't paying to watch it. . .Good God!

 

Ah, okay. There've been so many leaks, it's hard to keep track of what's real and what's fake. I'm kind of hoping it will all blend together in my mind, so when I go and see the final movie I'll forget them all and have no idea what will happen, lol.

Yeah, this is why I plan on making myself scarce on the movie forums for a while. We have over a year to go until marketing starts, and at this point we've kind of discussed it all. Mirage's altmode, reboot/prequel, etc. Unless there are some major reveals on set during reshoots (like new vehicles or something), I expect the next year to mostly be retreading the same discussion topics (and getting pointlessly hyped for every convention, even though we know nothing major will be released).

I'll probably stick around for a couple more days (just in case some big follow-up article happens to drop) and then limit my presence here to maybe once every week or two (I'll probably be more active on stuff like Star Wars discussions). I'll still be around, but I kind of want to devote more time to personal projects and less time to participating in the same discussions.

 

There's no need to 'announce' your 'exiting' of a thread, just go and the discussions will go on without you. lol Things will naturally die down anyways since I'm betting there's going to be another drought of information.

I see no issue with discussing rumors, at least there's more substance there than just hype alone. I also don't see many people just believing them wholesale, entertaining ideas isn't the same as just believing them.

I meant that I'd be discussing Star Wars on TFW2005, in the general movie forum. I expect to be a bit more active in the general forums during the next year. I don't think I have an account on any Star Wars specific sites. I honestly find TFW2005 to be a pretty good community for discussing everything, including other franchises.

 

It's been a while since I read this thread... Can someone tell me what's going on? Did we just get the leak of the plot of ROTB that's even worse than TLK? Is the hype we've been building all these months wasted? What's going on lol, I need somebody to make a summary

Some guy who claimed to know the script told Autobot Burnout some info of it. Assuming by his reaction, it looks like the film is connected to the Bayverse according to the leak.
