man you name it and i have seen it all.

i get that this is pretty expensive. so i try to be cool about it and give guys plenty of time to get their shit together and stuff. that always fall apart.

so even when i try to set up local sales where i could meet the buyers half way or whatever. i still just end up with BS stories or radio silence.

i know this is the nature of the beast or whatever. but i run into the same shit even when i am selling other things as well. it is all just bs at the end of the day.

it only takes a second to send a message. but whatever

The shipping cost of this thing really freaks a lot of people out. I second that.

Idk what people expect shipping wise out of an almost dishwasher sized box. On one hand I paid more for Unicron through Toy dojo, On the other hand the shipping was free so basically paid the shipping cost.

Then they should've bought it from Hasbro like everybody else. Otherwise, you pay the late tax. You snooze, you lose.

Just putting this out there, I think enough time has passed where no one is gonna give me crap for it. Since this was ordered pre-pandemic, I had the money to crowdfund two, but with it being so expensive and no one really NEEDS a $600 toy, I made a deal with my wife. I could keep one if I bought two and at some later date was able to sell the second one for double the price, essentially getting the one I kept for free.

So when I got them in May, I put one up on Facebook, Craigslist, and Ebay for $1300. After 6 months and maybe 6 people offering me lowball prices, I finally got someone who wasn't trying to haggle, they just missed out and was willing to spend that much for him.

So just be patient. BBTS, TFSource and others sold out of them at $1300, and they still routinely sell above $1500 on ebay, so you'll eventually find a seller.

I think you'll get a very diverse perspective on this. And I don't think you owe or have the need or should want to explain your reasonings to anyone on this board. If you bought two, you bought two. I actually think you should hold off on selling the other immediately as I think over time it'll appreciate in value IF Haslab is only a one time thing, I don't see this being release in the near term nor in next 5 years (just my opinion) but a lot can happen within that time frame.

I actually did buy two and is planning to keep both MIB for quite some time. If the Haslab Unicron appreciates in value later I MIGHT consider selling but I have no inclination to do so.

IF people who MISSED OUT and have FOMO, and then whine and complain and so forth, let them. It is a board of fanatics after all but the end result will be the same. And that is they don't have one yet, maybe.

I agree. Especially in regard to crowdfunding campaigns.

Mass release stuff is a little different but everyone knew exactly how long they had to save up for the original retail price window for this figure.

The thing that made me feel ok about selling one for higher is that it wasn't scalping. I paid for mine to get produced. If I didn't order them, they wouldn't have gotten made. I didn't prevent anyone from getting one, so I felt ok about setting my own price for what I wanted to get for one.

And even then, there were outside options. If Haslab's timeframe was too short for you even after the extension, you could get one from retail online outlets. You paid more, but not Current Aftermarket more. And you had most of that year to pay it off.

Even when it was still being backed, I felt the same as many that there was nothing wrong with buying extras to sell later. Like everyone has been saying from then until now, they were made to order. It wasnt the first five thousand, then POOF, gone. Those extras helped make sure this got produced. And with people clearing their heads from having actually missed out, the market will decide overall how much it's actually willing to pay for those extras over time. Maybe it goes up more, maybe it evens out to something less than they're currently selling for.

I've got mine holding my sole Rock Lord like a planetoid.

I just had to have a rock lord when I found it, bit his waist joint is all loose and he can't stand up, but in rock mode he fits perfectly into Unicron's hand.

So I basically have Unicron preparing to eat his lunch. And if you want to see it that way, an homage to the original script where Lithone was populated by rock people (not my intention, but it's a fun coincidence).

you shouldn't care one way or the other what anyone thinks. even if it was scalping or not. it was your money that bought the item and if you want to sell it at whatever price that makes you happy go for it. you personally paid over 500 for the bot not the community.

who gives a fuck what some self-righteous imaginary fan boys on the internet think.

i know i would never think twice about anything i sell based on if it might be thought of as scalping. i live in the real world and have real bill's and real mouth's to feed. yes this is a hobby that i am lucky enough to be able to afford. but leaving 600+ bucks on the table just for fan feels...o_O

shit doesn't work that way for me.

Unicron's engaged his festive ring lights. Found these Philips lights at Costco the other day. Can be switched to either all white or multi-coloured.
