I agree w most of that, sound logic.

HOWEVER, let's not give Hasbro any free credit on "the cost to make these things". Without actual cost numbers, its pure speculation and u end up repeating a faceless corporation that purposefully withholds those numbers to say exactly what u said. :rolleyes2  I understand plastic, labor, & shipping went up; I dont understand why this gets passed to u and me, while Hasbro execs buy another BMW w their bonuses. Sorry, I forgot: higher costs should NOT affect execs, only the poor people buying the products! :D

Here's a better explanation: high price includes the cost of Hasbro FAILURES, where u r actually paying a premium to cover some of their dumbass mistakes. My opinion? Do better market research, fix ur distribution problems, and avoid most of those mistakes - pass the savings to customers, not bigger bonuses to ur execs!

And yet I've only seen Cheetor and Rattrap once each, and no Primal or Megs.

I mean, Studio Series has been going for years. I don't think there's any question that movie stuff sells, and clearly BW sells or they wouldn't be pushing it so hard.

You mad genius you… I think I’ve seen that done by a customizer with the old original Scorponok, but doing it while pulling off a box swap return would be pretty funny. I actually do like the bee claw gimmick myself tho, I’d rather just mod a way for it to work better or not eventually wear itself out over time.

More importantly, these figures have been freely available on both Hasbro Pulse and Walmart.com since September 3rd.

All four sold out for a short time on Hasbro Pulse, then were restocked. They made a ton of this first wave. That said, I'm not so sure they will make as many for the next wave of figures.

I hope to be wrong on that, since figures like Scorponok, Tigatron, Cybershark, Terrorsaur and Tarantulas are fan favorites and will be coveted.

Most of these original figures go for $50+ on eBay and that's for a loose figure, so to get them on card/box for $22 and up is a deal for me.

I havent bought Kingdom versions of these characters, so the reissues are an appealing novelty

... and that's the single worst thing to ever happen in your life?

Well, good on you and your otherwise good fortune.

Or, keep the second and use it as the beast mode display.

They are cluttering the shelves around here too. All four are readily available at WalMart now that they've finally gotten in inventory.

For nostalgia's sake, I prefer the original BW molds over the new Generations versions. But I wish they received new head sculpts, closer to the animation models, without the stupid battle mask gimmick. Like the 10th Anniversary release of Optimus Primal and Megatron with the updated heads. Those figures are perfect. I wish we got the same treatment for Scorponok, Cheetor, Rhinox, Tigatron, etc.

We got Beast War reissues in my store, and the only one who looks to be shelfwarming, despite getting put on shelves like just a week ago, is Megatron due to us getting multiple cases of him somehow idk I guess somebody decided we needed like 10 of the trex man that says yes

I’m glad we didn’t, because those headsculpts were awful. They both looked like face faced frogs.

For those wondering how Scorponok's packaging compares to the original, I've done some research including international releases:

    Reissue:
Vintage Beast Wars reissue Scorponok packaging 1.jpg Vintage Beast Wars reissue Scorponok packaging 2.jpg

    Original (US release):
BW Scorponok US 1.jpg BW Scorponok US 2.jpg

Original (European release, English/Spanish/Italian, first version):
BW Scorponok ENESIT 1A.jpg BW Scorponok ENESIT 2A.jpg

Original (European release, English/Spanish/Italian, second version):
BW Scorponok ENESIT 1B.jpg BW Scorponok ENESIT 2B.jpg

    Original (European release, French/Dutch/German):
BW Scorponok FRNLDE 1.jpg BW Scorponok FRNLDE 2.jpg

Unfortunately, I couldn't find photos of the Canadian/Latin American packaging.

I personally just like Primal better with the full Optimus mouth plate.
