I'm a massive fan of the leg transformation, it's just so good. The body, however.....

After a long and lengthy debate with myself I decided to go for it and buy this guy.

Damn, I am impressed! With the optional head on its like he just stepped out of the cartoon

He looks so clean from all angles and no big ass bloody backpack like MP-44!

The transformation is really fun, especially the legs.
Can't believe I waited this long.... He's amazing!

Definitely one of the best looking Optimus Prime figures out there.

I was asked if I were planning on converting my MP-44+ toy head to fit TE-01 and I thought I should ask here if there'd be enough interest to be worth it.

My thinking is that TE-01 is the worst fit for a toy version of Prime. His windows can't be removed so you're stuck with blue, they're very square instead of rectangular, he has no chrome parts and no silver stripe in truck mode. Plus his head uses moving parts for transformation which would make engineering and building a replacement head more challenging and would make it cost more. I sell the MP-44 heads for $35 but a similar head for TE-01 would run at least $45 due to the extra parts and assembly.

So, having listed all the reasons not to do it, if I did do it, would it be something anybody would even want?

I got in my neck and chest kit from @transformer_78 . It was a breeze to install and it looks great! I highly recommend. 20211114_111215.jpg

i love that head you designed and I love the TE prime, but i agree with you on fit for TE. Still i bet there will be some people who love it on there. i'm sure someone will pshop it on there and demand will be created, but at $45 i think it will be a very limited demand. i could be wrong.

Was messing with him in altmode this afternoon, and somehow handeling him made me feel just as giddy, happy and at the same time nostalgic to the old G1 toy.

Whilst the goal was cartoon accuracy, messing around with him gives me nice memories of playing with the toy at my friends house when I was a kid.

Just all-round this figure feels more like Optimus Prime than MP44.

Gotta love the nostalgic memories. Your post made me happy. I never owned Optimus as a kid despite really wanting one (had PMOp, though, so that was pretty cool). Might be why I'm so obsessed with him and keep buying every figure they make of him. Even though I complain about the foggy blue windows, the lack of chrome, and the lack of front to back ankle articulation, TE-01 is my favorite Optimus.

    Glad it made you happy!

This figure is an amazing trigger for me to memories from a long time ago :)

Not many figures in my collection do that.
    MT Downbeat
MP Prowl and Tracks (despite the latter being a hollow mess)
And Unique Toys version of Swindle are just about the only ones who actually do that.
And the weird part is that the G1 toy of Swindle looks nothing like his cartoon counterpart.
I still remember how, initially, disappointed I was when I got the toy....

So getting an accurate MP scale Swindle figure felt really awesome! :D
Those figures have something of a soul to them if you get my meaning, just looking at them in the cabinet triggers something in my mind that very few figures do

I didn't own many of the figures from the first few seasons. I had Bombshell, Grimlock, Blurr, Powermaster Optimus, and some Headmasters, Pretenders, Micromasters, and Action Masters. So for me the only figure that's really put me back into my childhood bedroom is Power Baser but I totally get what you mean (MP Grimlock did as well to a lesser extent). I like that figure more than he probably deserves but it's because PMOp was the only Prime I owned as a kid and I played with that thing like crazy.

Too bad he doesn't ship outside US, with the comment that shipping is expensive.
If the buyer pays, whats the problem?

Yes sorry, I’m focusing on other things at the moment and just wanted to do a small batch. Its just easier and faster to deal with orders shipped within the US.
I did offer international shipping for a while at the beginning (a good 2 years) for these parts…..many folks here can attest to it.

I’m on to other projects now…I only did a recent batch due to the amount of interest/inquiries I received. Sorry again.
    Thanks

    Attachment in Ignorance!

The pre-installed one has kind of a gap in headcrest. Didn't bother to research the character model sheets

Think I prefer the longer antenna.
