So I was never happy with big springs head but thought he was a great toy, tried all sorts of face repros but was never fully happy. Had plans to cast apache's head but when I saw airwolf was coming and was basically just that I decided I was going to wait. Anyway long story short I got casting supplies for my junkions and figured I'd give this a go as an alternative. Suffice to say I'm very happy with how the casting came out, the light green on the head was a custom mix and I'm very pleased with the shade on that too. Overall this may well be my favourite custom to date. IMG_20211111_215702.jpg

No not my bag I'm afraid

    1. ordered some rtv silicone and some polyurethane resin from ebay.

    2. Pushed the part into some level playdough front side up in a small plastic tub, pushed the back of a screwdriver head in around the edges of the playdough several times to make sockets for pegs to hold the mould together then mixed and poured the silicone.

3.After that was dry I removed it all, took the playdough off, cleaned the silicone with cotton buds and cut off any excess. Then I covered the silicone with vaseline with a cotton bud and blu tacked a pen lid in the screw hole in the back of the head, mixed and poured the 2nd lot of silicone.

4.After that was dry I seperated the mould making small cuts If the silicone had attached to the other half and removed the head and pen lid cutting the opening so it was wide enough for a clean pour. Then I mixed and poured the resin and banged the tub on the table lightly every so often while the resin dried to remove air bubbles.

Hey presto you have a head cast
