Picked up this little curiosity in a collection recently, quite an interesting choice of colours (or lack of).



Anyone have any idea of value? I couldn't find one on ebay solds so I popped it on there as an auction.

 

Y'all ain't talking about it anymore, but I gotta say I've never been so surprised about everyone's negativity about Soundwave's alt mode. The focus is completely put on robot mode, which makes sense, since no one knows what his alt mode should even be, so does it really matter if his alt mode looks like a squashed smurf croissant?

Yes, because it's a Transformer. Both modes should always at least look like something.

 

Personally I think it beats being a gigantic boombox and/or a "cybertron lamp post"
It does look stupid... But no compromises to what was seen on screen = perfect. Hopefully The Fallen does the same

It's been a while since I've owned it, but that looks like the Leader class mold from AOE? If it's a prototype of it, might be worth something.

 

I understand your point, but the fallen gets away with that because the aesthetic is alien. Soundwave is an updated blocky 80s robot, so there's really little excuse to not make him turn into SOMEthing. Even SS Shockwave has treads and the general shape of something tank-like.

Do the shoulder pads stay together on yours? I got one on ebay a while back but it didn't feel solid at all so I resold it. I should have tried painting him to be accurate before I resold but oh well.

Looks like the armor knight remold, which is way better!

 

At least on the second-hand copy I had, the shoulder stays in place pretty securely, and the joints involved in the chest/shoulder transformation are just tight enough to stay together; Which I'm very happy with, as HFTD Ironhide was a figure I wanted for a while which makes it even sweeter than I now got a very pristine copy of it.

 

I kind of like that Ironhide! I managed to get a copy online for $20 and when I got it, the dust was so thick that it hid a giant stress mark on the window, so that was lovely. I actually think the Takara one looks miles better but it goes for $100 a pop online and that's a little too much for this particular figure. Nice pictures though!  



Tried Transforming Grindor last night. Spent some time trying to tighten up those joints to make it presentable and once it's time to clip in panels, he does NOT want to help me out. I spent a good hour trying to manipulate panels- the shoulder flap that can't move was a big problem, the top wouldn't tab in, had clips popping off left and right. It's a shame because his robot mode looks so cool. At one point I had it almost all the way done, went to press in one piece and like a confetti popper, it exploded. Lol

 

I love that OS Long Haul. The original is too short IMO.

 

Impulse purchase but I gave up on retail.

Dammit @Sideways77 you cursed me with that comment about LT-02 always breaking! After being perfectly fine for over a year, this just happened while transforming him normally. Anyone wanna sell me just the shoulder piece for LT-02 from a broken one?
