Thank you, that's a very kind offer, but I'm in the UK. I found one on ebay for about £1.50. I might get one to shut all you guys up :D

Did you break it while opening the calf? Cause the instructions for that are in the next video.
I'm really sorry you broke it, though. I feel your pain because mine broke on my first attempt.

Yes, multiple times after I broke it the first time! But it took me AGES to figure out how.

Mine didn't feel like it would break, the panel just opened up without the foot. For me it happened coming out of alt mode. A longer screw would be better, but the plastic is very thin - it's a tiny post.

I'm using the flat screwdriver. I haven't damaged any figures with it.

Well my replacement V2 shipped from SZ this week, but honestly i don't have a huge amount of confidence at this point. Went ahead & bought a used Koot off ebay as backup & canceled all my XTB new-mold preorders except for Janssen. Told myself that how Locke was handled would be the litmus test for how i treat XTB from here on out & am forcing myself to stick to it. From here on it's only released & reviewed figures where trouble-spots have been documented. sigh

if I had any guts I'd do the same. Yet I'm still plunging ahead with Springer (they can't get two modes right without breaking, surely they can handle three, amirite) the shock troopers, the Omnibots and Punch/Counterpunch. Why? Because this isn't a hobby for intelligent, well-adjusted people who make sound financial and mental health decisions, that's why. Fortunately there are backup options at my disposal, of various degrees of satisfaction, for every one of those, so I won't be burned too bad.

I have completely given up on their Protectobots though. It's GT/MMC/future FT endeavor or bust for that squad.

Broke it trying to fold the foot/ankle into the calf for vehicle mode before folding the outer calf back in.

So TFSource finally e-mailed me back and said they got the V2's. Which honestly still seem to be largely fragile, unfixed turds.

Which? The Fanstoys Soundwave saga or the XTB Kup saga? Judging by all the breaks that have occurred post Locke 2.0 replacements I'd say his saga is in for an extended epilogue.

I was going for both, but yeah, I'm crossing my fingers that I got a first edition v2 with no epilogue...

Been comparing Locke and Koot for about a week now, and I think I've finally settled on Locke. Let's face it, they're both an absolute bastard to transform, they both have some pretty big flaws, but when it comes down to it, I think the proportions and sculpt are more natural on this one and much closer to the character.

Still nowhere near as sturdy as it needs to be though. XTB are still on thin ice, as far as I'm concerned.

Sure, because that's equal. Only XTB people can think like that.

    Poor assembly is poor assembly.

Never implied apples with apples, but just noting that the issues that mostly get slated in xtb or TT threads are poor workmanship or materials. And they generate pages of posts, normally with a smattering of "FT is better" rhetoric.

Well this isn't a design choice (Thomas screw) or a faulty hardware issue (Sheridan leg) or even a paint problem. This is a bona fide assembly issue which tight tolerances don't allow for.

Which is normally what people slate Keith for.

I just buy what I like, and am unhappy when something is wrong with it. This issue is no different to MP-52 forearms, or any xtransbots issue you want to pick out that's caused by the same thing.

Fortunately, just like xtransbots, but not TT, I'll get spares and move on. I won't drop into every FT thread and say "huh, Acoustic Wave gun shitty assembly and weak plastic, took a redesign and still broke". Like would happen the other way round...

Locke v2 arrived today! Only three bits broke off before I transformed him. Still, that's better than v1, I suppose.
