Hey people, i recently started Tf collection (the pic is an approximation of the figures that might fit in my collection and that i will try to hunt down in the future) and i already have a doubt about a certain character. According to Tf Wiki Huffer is a Volvo F88, the thing is that i search for a semblance of realistic scale between transformers with vehicle alt modes and (while not knowing the exact measures, since i can't find them online) i came to the conclusion that said Volvo is kinda the same size as Optimus's alt mode (maybe just a bit smaller and definitely shorter, lenght wise, but not by much i suppose). So what's the problem you might ask. Well, i found out that the WFC Huffer and the Badcube Huffer have roughly the same height, with the Badcube one a smidge taller. The problem is that i don't know how big Badcube Huffer's altmode is and the WFC one is too small realistically speaking (again, according to a some pics i saw online). So, if there's someone out there that knows how a Freightliner and a Volvo F88 should look side by side please tell me.

 

The problem is, everything in WFC is robot scale corrected, not alt-mode corrected.

One mode or the other is going to give way, not give you all of what you want, to give you sort of what you want.

The Bumblebee, Cliffjumper, Brawn, and Outback you have pictured are Newage Legends Plus (which means they're actually quite small, especially the two smallest Minibots) and Brawn and Huffer are the same height in robot mode per the Sunbow charts.

So, you'd need a Deluxe Class Brawn to nail that and the closest one I can think of is the old iGear versions from many moons ago. (You can find 'em on eBay for about $50ish a piece, in the box.) All of which brings us to Huffer. Huffer was smaller than Optimus and there are images of real-world trucks akin to Huffer that are indeed much smaller than Optimus is.

As for Kingdom Huffer vs Badcube Huff, I'd say BC would be slightly out of scale. Which is more important to you? Robot mode or alt mode scale? If it's robot mode, you'll need to pick other options for the other Minibots. If it's vehicle mode, you might want to switch to MP or try older figures. (Classics Optimus would scale better with Huffer/Huff. ToyWorld Orion and CW Optimus are other good options for scaling with Huff/Huffer.)

Such is the pain that WFC's reset has put upon us.

 

Oh but i'm not going with the sunbow scale. My scale is more "realistic" we can say, i did some research and Brawn (and by consequence Outback) turns out to be a very small jeep in comparison to another jeep like Gears or a regular car guy, being only 3 meters long in comparison to Gears's 5. Basically the small legends scale car guys are perfect for the type of collection i'm trying to build and for the jet guys i will invest on the "Mp scaled" ones, i already have a DX9 Blitzwing for example. Huffer though is a truck, and accordingly to Tf Wiki, a truck almost similar to Optimus in size. I think i would go with the Badcube one but the thing is that i don't know how big the truck mode of that figure is in comparison to Optimus, but even then both the Badcube and the WFC one are very similar height wise. The question is, which of the two has the vehicle mode that scale the best between the two? Thanks for the interest though and yeah, Hasbro should make up their mind with scale.

 

I'd stick with Huffer, honestly. We know he's shorter than Optimus in robot mode already, his vehicle mode should be more or less on par, scale-wise.

Dude, this is a series that has Penny Racers driving next to sports cars and a giant robot made of 5 other giant robots fitting into what should be a regular sized space shuttle. There IS no realistic scale when it comes to Transformers.  

 

i know, i'm aware of that. Although it would be nice if there was some (at least for the car and jet guys). And just because the original toys were made in a specific way doesn't mean that's how it should be.

 

I'm going on memory's of a 6 year old, some 35 plus years ago but i thought huffer's toy was considerably smaller than optimums prime.

 

that's only because Huffer's original toy was a very deformed truck cab with humungous smokestacks. Huffer was never supposed to be that smaller than Optimus, the guys making the cartoon were just idiots basically.
