You really laughed me   I was thinking if I ever buy this set I would keep Outback as vehicle.

 

This thread really does need more love for Outback.

Outback's cameo in Five Faces of Darkness Part I merits taking him out of the box. He's a nice little figure with a solid gun on him.

 

Bonney is my vacation photo bot. He easily fits into the pocket of my backpack, and looks the part of a traveler. He’s easily my favorite of the two, and the reason I bought them to begin with. Hogan is a great representation of Brawn, but I’ve never been a fan of the character.

 

Just sitting back waiting for my wing kit door upgrade to come in from ebay  

Literally decided 2 days ago to finally order the wings and give him his look instead just a cookie cutter brawn.

@mrspingly great pics! Ouuuuuutback! @Zentropy thats awesome. My little g1 right there in the pic was my main travel buddy as a kid from the day i got him. Thing I loved about it was he never got as much wear or tear compared to my others no matter what I put him through, he looks tops even today!

 

If anybody's tired of their Brawn from this set, I'm in the market..

If the bot looked anything like the guy on the top right of your photo, I would've proudly displayed him.

I liked that Brawn and Outback were in the same 'Trailbreaker and Hoist' situation, where - in order to differentiate them in the cartoon - the second character was designed to look like the original toy form of the first one.

 

I wonder if NA would do toy-based redecos of this pair, considering there's not much else they can do with these molds without retooling them, and toy colors have become a bit of a thing for NA.

 

I too appreciated the differentiation, but I think the primary reason is that Dery wasn’t very good at drawing robots, and so he closely imitated the toy designs in S2. He preferred to draw more organic shapes (as is evidenced by his Movie and S3 character designs). Kohara was responsible for the more heroic proportions of the S1 bots, even though Dery removed much of the interesting kibble from them before production.

Regardless, I love the original G1 Outback figure and would love to see a modern version that was more faithful to it, rather than being a wingless, chunky twin of cartoon Brawn.

 

Me too, abosolutely.
NA should just do that again... Put out a double pack with a toy/toon accurate mold for Outback and a Brawn-colored clone for good measure.

 

I would buy that! In fact, at some point months ago (perhaps on this very thread) I posted an image of a toy-deco NA Brawn that I'd like to see, though the only sculpt difference is the head. It'd be fun to get one with the thinner legs, door wings, and exposed wheels, but even something like this would be appealing to me:

 

I would love a toy deco of Brawn. I picked up the toy deco Megatron and Shockwave recently and have Starscream on the way.
Really hope NA can circle back and release more toy decos like Bumblebee, Cliffjumper and Thundercracker.

 

I would buy that in a second!

All day, but I know I'm going to be busy and likely away. The last time I did something similar what I wanted sold out after a few hours so hoping I can time this one right with some of the other purchases.

 

Oh damn, then i should just give up because i just can't buy them in this period. Oh well, i just hope they don't sold out already.

 

If by some chance someone just wants Outback from the 2-pack, I'd go halfsies.
