Fun little build for the most part. It’s not finished yet, and the canopy trim paint needs another pass with a magnifying glass since the camera reveals my naked eye sucks for small details. Also the Elint looks kinda odd in white but I’m just doing these for fun and I don’t really care about accuracy or neatness in them so I doubt I’ll take the time to paint it. Also, glue is recommended for these but on this one everything fit tightly together like any snap kit so I didn’t end up using any.
Every time i see this thing my blood boils lol! i know it’s not the yamato and it’s supposed to be fixed, but the original was so floppy i threw mine away. Didn’t try and sell it, I just tossed it…..
I still have my copy and it’s on display. Going to get a bottle of Kiki Joint Tightener a try and also other floppy TFs.
this was years ago, and i only paid a little over $100 (if that much) for it new. it was floppy in fighter mode, would not stay together in Battroid, then worse when i changed it back. wasn’t worth the hassle of selling it and then someone trying to tell me i robbed them with them knowing it was a flawed Valk.
Damn LOL Yea that and their VF-0 were designed in that in between phase after the 1/48 VF-1 and before the V2 1/60 VF-1. I’ve got no issue with them sculpt-wise but their build quality left a lot to be desired. Not as solid as the 1/48 nor V2 1/60 VF-1s.

I only applied the stripe for the Elint radar disk and a Macross kite but both went on smoothly and seem of decent quality. That said, they are foil and a bit on the thick side so they aren’t going to look as nice as waterslides or dry transfers. Additionally, if anyone decides to build these be aware that the vertical stab clips are minuscule and fragile. As I was gently pressing one of them into place, one of them busted off. There are two clips on each so it still holds, luckily.

Edit: @chuckdawg1999 - I think tthat this is a re-issue of the old Super Deformed chibi model kits that Bandai made years ago, so no perfect transformation noggins that I know of. There are smaller normal heads but they still need to be removed for transformation due to how the transformation works. They plug into the bottom for fighter mode and plug into the shoulders for battroid.
