Why not look up the measurements?

 

A picture is worth 1000 words... and my spatial cognition is compromised without direct visual input. I could do the equations and what-not just fine in my Physics course, but coming up with what real-world movement was being demonstrated by a cyclical graph of a singular point's acceleration was a struggle.

 

With Carnifex's shoulders being higher than his head do the given measurement of his robot mode being 12" tall mean to the head or shoulders? Cacus is apparently 10.63" tall so they are going to be close but probably not eye to eye, no pun intended.

 

So that's a no then...

 

It's an answer to "why not", explaining it rather than a simple "no" that might have come across as an outright refusal of your valid suggestion. It just doesn't seem to help me.

 

Still waiting on TCP to get him in, but sure, when I have him in hand I can take pics with Pexus and Gravity Builder. Don't have Carnifex, though.

Anything else you guys want him compared to? My collection is pretty varied with a lot of official CHUG, some MP (including a little Bayverse), most of the G1 toys for the '86 movie, and a smattering of Legends.

I second a comparison with the Striker Manus mold.

 

I have both Manus and Pluto, I'll get them out of storage and take pics tomorrow.

Btw, I very much prefer the red hands on Cacus, but in my case, they seem to be much lower quality than the black ones.. they had a stress mark right out the package and the pin wasn't properly pushed in. Both issues are fixable, just something I noticed.
All in all, I really like the figure and it is my new favourite Grimlock by far, succeeding both Vulcun and Superator

Beyond that, no. My experience with them is that they're one of the quicker ones, getting stuff well before BBTS and TFSource. But I think they themselves are getting bigger than some of the other places. Maybe @Chosen Prime can chime in? (Or maybe not because they're too busy receiving them and getting them sent out... a guy can wish.)

Yes/yes, yes, and no. But I'll add Manus and Pluto to Pexus and Gravity Builder.

Got mine from Toy Dojo today. This is my second Planet X figure after Vulcun, and I gotta say that I'm not a fan of the plastic-bending engineering these dinos employ for the leg transformation. Cacus isn't as bad as Vulcun's extreme plastic bending but it's not awesome. They are also both fairly sharp all over, and transforming Cacus actually drew blood. But, Cacus does look pretty awesome in both modes, so the iffy transformation engineering is kind of worth it.

Like several others have reported, mine has the super tight waist joint (remedied with a drop of lubricant) and too-loose ab-crunch. Some of the ratchets are also too tight, particularly the left knee that disengages the transformation peg unless I really brace it real good and use a lot of force to move it.

Overall I do like this figure despite the sub-par workmanship (mine had a missing screw, two pieces came off while in the package, and one dino arm came off because it was barely screwed in) and the not-great transformation engineering. It really does look good enough in both modes for me to overlook these issues, so I'm satisfied.
