Is there a sticker set to make it look like Keneda’s bike?

 

Funny… Ive been considering Otomo for a long time and ckd BBTS. The first thing i see on the site is the 1/6 Red Snake Eyes (Deadgame) and actually mistook it for Otomo.

Too bad the black Snake Eyes homage didnt turn into a limited release.

Anyway, with Otomo I’ll have 5 of these Bastards. I still love them.

 

Interestingly it does not seem to list the stickers in the contents which I find a bit odd.

 

JSYK, the sticker set doesn't have the actual logos from Kaneda's bike, it has 'Bastardised' versions which are mostly swear words in fonts that make them resemble Japanese characters.

Did ToyHax/ReproLabels never make a set that more closely resembled the ones from the movie/book? I know there are some that might fall under copyright, but some of them are more generic.

 

I don't think so, no. Otomo was probably a bit too niche for them as a limited edition version for a figure that wasn't even a Transformers or other licenced property (or 3rd party version thereof.)

 

was organizing my photo library and came across these. took them after a tfcon one year. don't know if they were ever published anywhere. in any case, just as a caution, these are the rough prototypes that were on display at the show that year.

 

Mayhem Mekanics Present The Yamazuki

 

Absolutely breaks my heart, every time I think back on this. Would have loved those Yamazuki chaps. Still hoping to grab an Otomo at some point.

Working on the exclusive box art for the Bastards and colouring the comic was an absolute joy. Would have loved the chance to do more.

 

Has there been any more information on the comic

 

Afraid I don't have any further info. Art, colours and lettering was completed last year.

CZ Hazard. He is financing the comics personally (if he can) cause the KS money was lost in the Spencer/MAAS Toys debacle. He would be the only one with updates but I imagine its a fairly torturous process at this point. I still believe he’ll make good on the project eventually, but Covid likely has only made the process harder to complete.

 

That Spencer dude from what i have read on the boards is lucky he didnt end up disappearing like Hoffa or ending up floating in the east river with as many companies as he screwed over. Shame too. So many great designs for stuff id probably bought.

Picked up Burley and spector on sale from Tfsource and then ran across a great deal on eBay for the set. Thanks to BBTS I finished off the trio finally with another Otomo. Really like the set as a whole. To bad they never produced anything else.
