after seeing it and thinking over it. its a good episode. I really liked the mercenaries personalities and they way they made Trypticon like BW era Megs. I also liked how the Volcanicus seemed to take on the combined personality of its component parts. Excited for the next one.

 

This episode convinced me to buy the Takara Siege Soundblaster for the Merc logo, gonna group him with WFC Bugbite, Nightbird and Doublecrosser. Wish we had an Afterburner conehead repaint as well, really loved the Mercs in this

 

This is honestly a great special!

There’s not much problems with it. My main gripe is that they didn’t really do much setting up for the eventual “Perfect Soldier” invasion in the second part.

Swoop being a female didn’t really bother me, if any Dinobot was going to be gender-swapped Swoop is the obvious choice compared to the rest of the Dinobots. Don’t know why they didn’t just use Slash if they wanted a female Dinobot, though. The one that stuck out most was Sludge, my only problem with him being how different his design his compared to his figure. Volcanicus’s voice is....off.

The Mercs were a pleasant surprise, and it looks like the writers decided to follow in the footsteps of the WFC Trilogy. It was surprising to see Doublecrosser, as I believe he is a completely new character, debuting with his Earthrise figure. Glad to see Afterburner was brought back from the void of forgotten characters, and with Cyberverse Ramjet recently getting a figure there’s hope for Afterburner. The one I loved the most has to be Bug-Bite, Hasbro would seriously be missing a major opportunity by not giving him a figure.

The highlight for me had to be Trypticon! Dare I say the best version of the character? I hope he returns and joins the Perfect Decepticons in their battle against Cybertron!

 

Ironically, as a Soundwave collector it fully convinced me that aside from Headmasters, Soundblaster is a totally different character and I need never concern myself with black Soundwave repaints

It's weird because Paramount seems to still be straddling the fence as to if these are reboots or not.

 

Anyone else catch the pun when Soundwave and Soundblaster were fighting in the flashback?

They were BEAT BOXING hahaha. I love that.

 

But all evidence in the film points to it being a reboot.
The designs are a big signal, and Prime arriving to Earth alone(as far as we know) in the 80's is without question pointing it to be a new continuity.
At this point any similarities it has with the original 5 Bay films could just be taken as "inspiration". Like they liked some aspects and decided to keep some - such as Bee bee-ing a Camaro. Which I love.

 

Great Cyberverse Special, If only the toys were just as great. Seriously a lot of Characters in Cyberverse deserve a Generations Toy,

 

Just don't make her all about attaching herself to some dude. That is not a life plan that 8 year olds need to be introduced to  

 

Was not expecting a theme song remix here, that hit hard.

Also I love how despite the Bumblebee branding, this show has moved away from Bumblebee by a lot by the time of even Season 3. Someone at marketing is either being misled or misleading themselves.

 

No true parent would allow their kid to become a gold-digger, but I won’t derail this thread by getting into it.

 

Nobody thinks you're not allowed to have an opinion, but since you've told us about a thousand times that you hate Cyberverse, there is also no reason for you and other Cyberverse haters to come into every single new Cyberverse thread that appears on the site just to tell everyone how much you hate it and how stupid you think we are for liking it.

Nobody wants you to be nice to the media. We want you to be kind to people. I'm a person. So are the other people on this thread who are enjoying discussing Cyberverse. You and others like you who insist on coming into threads on Cyberverse, TFP, shipping, or any other topic you're not fond of just to state your opinions and pick fights are being rude to people.

You are allowed not to like things. But it is not okay to jump up and down and yell every time you see two or more people getting together to have a fun conversation about the things they like that you don't like.

If you want a thread in which to discuss how much you think Cyberverse (or TFP, or IDW, or shipping) sucks with other people who hate it, go make one. I won't go there to yell at you.

 

I just want a nice voyager figure of all of them. And Alphastrike, because the one Strika figure that exists is 3rd party, incredibly expensive and hard to find.

This is part 1 of Season 4. The previous 3 seasons will explain why Megatron is not here. The episodes in those seasons are 10 minutes long, so you can definitely binge them all over the weekend.

It was awesome.

 

All I'll say is that this is my favorite iteration of Trypticon now.

I mean, Decepticons in general aren't exactly supposed to be role models.

 

It's in the comics included with the 5 SG characters. Bumblebee is seen in the Bugbite color scheme, but with a purple Autobot insignia.

 

Someone pointed out that Volcanicus has a similar head design to Aligned's Nexus Prime, so that's why it looks different I guess.

I don't understand the Bugbite thing along with some of the other mercenaries in WFC and Cyberverse. When/where did he get popular in the niche parts of the fandom?

 

Beats me why Bugbite is suddenly "popular"... From Hasbro's standpoint he's a very easy repaint of BB, and from seeing Road Ranger in the Golden Disk subline my guess is they plan on doing all of the "Gobots pretending to be Transformers" characters. Simple repaints to reuse a bunch of G1 minibots. Frankly I'm surprised that they haven't made the green Warpath repaint yet....

 

Love the fact that Volcanicus is such a happy soul.  

 

Like Grimlock being an upper class type erudite and Swoop being a genius girl? It’s cool if you like it, but it’s not my cup of G1 tea.
