They had a lot of trouble with Gamorreans too. Like the ones in the fighting ring were skinnier and leaner than the ones we’re used to. Someone speculated maybe it’s because they’re trained fighters as opposed to lazy and fat like at Jabba’s palace. And actually, in Gallery, Filoni ans Favreau say that too, they’re skinny because they’re trained fighters compared to Jabba’s complacent guards. But lo and behold, the guards we do see at Jabba’s palace are also way skinnier. Bib couldn’t have been eating that much.

In terms of physiques it’s purely budget/practical effects reasons. Faces are weird for sure but again presumably for budget purposes. But come on, we couldn’t do better than that? It takes me out of it to see a human looking Trandoshan.

I think the look of Trandoshans varies. I mean, this guy is supposed to be one of them:

Having seen the trailer, one thing I'm not a fan of is Boba's apparent current disregard of the Mandalorian 'Hats compulsory' rule. Also, I would have liked his helmet to have been shown to have a voice modulator that would have helped disguise his true voice (and his identity, incidentally explaining Jason Wingreen's voice who portrayed him all those years ago.).

I've got no problem with Temura Morrison portraying the current version of Boba Fett, which does look interesting, so far, but I would like some in-universe explanations for certain 'discrepancies'. (I know Wingreen's voice was replaced by Morrison's, in certain versions of the movies, but I wasn't a fan of that. I prefer the voice modulator explanation)

I like what I see. I wondering if it would come across as too similar to The Mandalorian, but this show seems to have it's own tone and vibe. It's kind of surreal that Boba Fett is finally getting his own show. There have been rumors about Boba Fett appearing in stuff since before Force Awakens, and it's awesome to finally see him returning in full force.

A couple predictions based on the trailer:

#1. What we see here is entirely from the first episode. Maybe first two or three. I don't think the entire thing will take place on Tatooine.

#2. This show will be less "adventure of the week" (like Mando), and have a longer overarching season-long arc. As much as I do like adventure-of-the week shows, I wouldn't mind this show being more plot focused.

It's explained in The Mandalorian season 2 that the "Hats compulsory" rule is bs and that Din Djarin (Mando) was raised by a fanatical cult that was more extreme than most in Mandalorian culture. Also, Boba never claims to be a Mandalorian in any of his canon appearances (as far as I'm aware), though he does have association with them.

Was watching a TF Nation interview with Corey Burton and he said Cad Bane is one of his all-time roles.

Rosario Dawson proved that someone else is perfectly capable of taking on the mantle of beloved animated characters in live action. But maaan if they don’t get Corey Burton for the voice of Bane if he appears, that’s gonna suck. :lol

Honestly I think they should pull a Darth Maul and have Corey dub over whoever is in the Duros makeup.

Has there been any disappointment among fans that Boba Fett didn't retain his OT look?

I recall at the beginning there was a handful of fans stating that Boba looked like a fat guy in a housecoat.

But I believe after a while that has settled down.

Surprisingly I have seen fans complain about him not wearing his iconic crotch plate now.

    So its weird.

I honestly like the new look as he looks like a badass drifter among being one of the galaxy's most feared and renowned bounty hunters.

I've seen some disapproval on The Dented Helmet (Fett costuming community) about how he looked, but it was less the design itself and more the execution.

Many things in Mando are less meticulous than they were in the OT since they're on a tighter time crunch for a TV series. The same thing applies to stuff like CGI Luke or Ahsoka's shortened tendrils. Season 2 Boba has problems looking "fat" while it's really the massive amount of robes and the fact that the armor is actually made of rubber that makes it look that way.

In comparison to that, his suit in Book of Boba looks INFINITELY better produced. More accurate helmet casting, slimmer, silhouette, better quality armor plating, stuff like that is much more refined.

I guess the argument could be made that the repainted armor loses some of the nuanced details, dings, and scratches. But he's already getting scuffed up again looking at the new trailer. All in all, I'm happy with it.

I'm sure some people are, but I havn't really seen any myself.

As a lifelong Boba Fett fan, I personally welcome the costume changes. I mean, he still retains the same iconic overall look, which is the important thing. But his outfit even changed a bit between ESB and ROTJ. To me it would be silly to do a 1:1 faithful recreation of his OT costume. People change outfits in real-life all the time, and it makes sense that Boba would tweak his outfit over the years too.

There really is so much potential with this show, honestly. The possible roster of returning characters is super open-ended.

I'm still hoping for 4-LOM and Zuckuss. They were some of my favorite bounty hunters growing up, and I'd love to see them explored in live-action.

I'd love that, they're incredibly underrated. I'd also love to see Durge, maybe not necessarily BOBF but in some form of live-action media.

Jodo Kast would also be a perfect inclusion, a hunter who poses as Fett after he's believed to be dead. You could easily write in this faker that gets his comeuppance.

Durge was a villain in the young Boba Fett books, my sister and I always thought he was a really cool villain. I'd definitely like to see him show up. Although I do question how well he'd translate to live-action, he seems a bit too supervillainish for Star Wars. But if anyone could do it, it's this creative team.
