Not really - that's a bad reading of the room. People, myself included, have been attacking the deliberately provocative tone of the post, which contravenes forum rules. We don't feel sorry for Cliffjumper.

I personally wouldn't go into forums or any kind of shared interest community in general, for something I have no interest in, and in fact vehemently dislike, just to say 'this is garbage! pathetic! they should stop making this'. Why? Because that would be bad manners and I'd look like a dick to most people there. Would you do that?

But do I respect people's right to do that and turn everywhere into a sewer like a Facebook group or youtube comments? To be honest, no, not really. I'm an old git now and I'm gonna call it out as an example of bad conduct in the hope a place I used to like a lot more than I do now can avoid spiraling down to the lowest common denominator. Probably a waste of time!

 

I enjoy it. I'm here to see opinions on every side.

Gotta give it to you though, @Warpshard, I do love your take on what a forum should be: 'somewhere where people can express they think something is shit in however many ways they like'  . It's kinda beautiful in it's pure distilled cynicism. Is that really where we are? Is the idea of somewhere where people are just generally pleasant and positive, even in criticism and disagreement, just absurdly quaint now? Guess it's a case of 'if you can't beat em, join em'. Or just leave?

I love mp45, so this is right up my wheelhouse! I wish Takara would confirm it 100% already! I’d love to get a preorder in.

There does seem to be something off with the face. And hopefully he's mistransformed a bit.

Excuse the sloppy MS Paint work here, but wouldn't he look a bit more Cliffjump-y if his face was a little wider and the red sides were just a tad more narrow. I don't think his head is too big, but I don't think they quite gave him enough face showing through the red helmet.

 

None of any of this example is "dumbing down." It's simply the design process. Hell, Prime even ended up with more surface detail than the first design!

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: The original designs were done to look more "human" and "hero". These were created by artists at Marvel, afterall . And also, again, go take a look at your G1 toys. Most of this sculpted detail is simply not there either! Some is, but there's tons of blank, undetailed areas on them too.

 

I\'m not too big in the masterpiece market, but I just might get this one to fill in for the ER one

Of all the CJ offerings, I like this one the most. I'm very happy to see no waist gap or massive backpack, so far. I love how the red just pops on him.
Obviously, he's mistransformed. However, I'm really liking what I'm seeing. I'll definitely be buying a couple MP CJs.

But you may be dissapointed with his backpack (cause hes based on mp-45)
