So for non-show characters, there is no information about them, in most cases literally.

    • Sideways, Axer, Smokejumper, Dreadwind, Wind Shear, and Skyfire are all based on the Robot Masters appearances of those same mold. Wrecker Hook, from Robot Masters, is the same height as Tow Line in RiD, because they're the same character.
    • Scavenger, Mirage GT, Nightcruz, Jhiaxus, Cryotek, and Predacon Bruticus are all based on the 3H/Wreckers/Universe/Botcon appearances of the same molds.
    • Stormjet and Bruticus are scaled to Beast Machines characters, Jetstorm and Silverbolt, respectively.
    • Destructicon Scourge is the same height as Scourge, and Destructicon Bludgeon is scaled to him just as the toys are scaled.
    • Megabolt Megaplex is the same height as Emissary, because they're both Brave Max headmasters.
    • Air Attack Optimus Primal I didn't picture, but I remember back in the day there was some toy-only bio thing about him being an actual giant gorilla from the future. So I made him the same height as King Kong, but left him out of the lineup.

Hope that makes sense. The toy-only guys really are super spectulative because there's nothing about them. Heck, clearly Robot Masters has more fiction than they do, if that's what I had to borrow off of. And I find that sad.

Huh, I guess that means that stupid FT Fort Max would be in scale. How about that.

Three of the best Transformers in my collection: The Team Bullet Train: Railspike, Midnight Express and Rapid Run. Fantastic, realistic and detailed Shinkansen trains. I learned to like their RID names over the original Car Robots names: J-4, J-5 and J-7 but Skinkansen team sounds cooler.

I freakin' love these dudes. At one point I think I had three copies, one of which was repainted to pink and teal. I really wish they'd do an update of them. I'd imagine with the engineering they're employing currently they could do some really cool things with the individual robot modes.

Talking about names. Interesting trivia. Aaron Archer commented on my Instagram account about Rapid Run's name origin:

My Girlfriend at the time lived on a street i Cincinnati named Rapid Run... that is where the name for that character came from ..

I was busy, so I almost forgot to share the third post of the Shinakansen team as Railracer. I also like the Japanese name JRX too! Sounds cool! This is such a great combiner, super stable, poseable and solid. You may even think he's just a single robot and not a combiner.

I don't care what anybody says with their criticisms of RiD. RiD was a good time. It's the Transformers brand that brought back Transformers for me. Because at that point, I thought Transformers was a thing of the past until I saw they had an hand drawn animated Transformers cartoon and were releasing G1 reissues to go along with RiD figures. I didn't even know they were making Transformers at that point. I was just happy to see vehicular Transformers back again with an animated cartoon.

Sometimes I watch an episode of RiD on Christmas Eve just to remember.

I think 2D animation is simply better because they can do more. If they need new characters they can just draw them. Now days with CGI budget actually adversly affects story. RiD had great 2D animation.

    Freaking awesome.

Y'all are about to bring a tear to my eye...*sigh*...remembering yesteryear.
Good times with the Spychangers, Build Team, Bullet Trains, and don't get me started on that Ultra Magnus!! I miss Fox Kids!

I think I had the entire Build Team as a kid, but I hardly recall actually combining them. I got the all-yellow Wal-Mart exclusives for myself for my birthday two years ago and ultimately ended up disappointed, but that's okay. Wedge just doesn't work in that yellow and Grimlock...doesn't really work at all (to me) lol. Might mosey around to getting the figures in the regular colors someday.

MAN I wish Hasbro would put some cRID characters in a toyline again.

Thanks to RID I finished my Bruticus, he is G2 Swindle and Blast off and then the rest are the team from RiD.

Also I picked up the Devestator Repaint of build King.

Absolutely agree. That’s one of the reasons I more so prefer 2d animation. I would love for a TF series to go back to 2d animation one of these days. Even if it’s not completely anime inspired.

OK, It's been a while I hadn't taken pics and played with my Build Team... oh my... these figures are so, so fun! They are like a Power Ranger Squad or the Special Forces Ginyu. I will enjoy them as separate bots for a while before I combine them.

Is there a good resource out there for comparisons of the RID toys vs the Car Robots toys?
