I just realised that I never took the photo I promised, of Prowl with Jazz and Bluestreak. Let's rectify that (except with Smokescreen, 'cos I got him on Friday for my birthday, and I'm still excited :p  )...

    These are cool.

I'd be interested in some modifications to bulk up or otherwise scale up the Cliffjumper mold, especially since the backpack is just a shell that pops on and off, so there's potential for other.... y'all call 'em "boots", right? Boot lids? Rear decks?

Whatever, you know what I mean. The bit at the back of the car that pulls off and becomes a shield or backpack. Alternate versions with, say, sculpted louvers or different spoilers or one of those rally-car spare tire mounting deals that go on the back glass... or a truck bed like an El Camino, or... well, you get the point.

That plus something that slips over the front bumper/toes to give alternate front ends (or Searchlight-style rally lighting) would be cool too. Maybe a pair of knuckle-dusters for Cliffjumper (or anyone who wants to make their own Tap-Out)

The Prowl upgrade is probably my favorite here. Great job on sculpting all of these and finding ways to incorporate them into the vehicle mode.

If you printed in blue and had some stickers made, you could easily make a pretty good Crankcase out of the Trailbreaker design. You probably would want to paint the arms, the shins, and the rear quarter-panel wings blue. Although, I don’t know where the head would come from.

    Edit:
Trailbreaker’s head in blue and orange looks close enough probably.

Ooh, that's a cool idea, but alas, not one I'd be wanting to pursue, I'm afraid.

Other than the ones on the list in the first post, the only other two WFC figures I plan on touching (who I forgot to add to the list 'cos of being inept; best rectify that now!) are Wheeljack and Spinister.

    Thanks very much! :)

Not a bad idea, that. Although... it seems a bit superfluous when we're rumoured to be getting a new Crankcase in the Legacy toyline Hasbro's unveiling at Pulsecon this Friday. :p

    UPDATE TIME!

    BAM

    1 - Bot Modes 301021.JPG
    2 - Alt Modes 301021.JPG
First on the list is Wheeljack, who gets a pair of weapon mounts in alt mode, that become heel spurs in bot mode (with a similar but not identical foot mistranformation to Sunstreaker). And even better, these ones are a one and done! :D

    3 - Wheeljack Bot.JPG 4 - Wheeljack Alt.JPG

Next up... they still need tweaking, but I can show you what Hound's new feet look like (even if the engineering isn't quite there yet).

    5 - Hound Bot.JPG 6 - Hound Alt.JPG

Next up... in addition to the rocket boots for Sideswipe, I decided to also design a pair of gun feet for him (because options are good; thanks emgo!) Also pictured here is the simple spoiler, that needs one more pass to fix the alignment in the printer, and try to prevent excessive striations on the finished piece.

    7 - Sideswipe Gun Feet Bot.JPG 8 - Sideswipe Gun Feet Alt.JPG

And finally, the aforementioned rocket boots, although... I think I may be going back to the drawing board on them, to have another pass at the design. However, that's not the main point of these pics. No, the main point of these is the super secret spoiler project I mentioned way back in the OP.

    SPOILER SWORDS BABY :D

    9 - Sideswipe Spoiler Swords Bot.JPG 10 - Spoiler Swords On Siege Swipe.jpg 11 - Sideswipe Spoiler Swords Kingdom.JPG

So, have a look and see what ye think, and as always, all feedback is appreciated!

Oh lordy, please tell me you're going to have multipacks for completionists like myself. I'm liking all of these.

I'll have to check whether it's cheaper to do them as one all-in pack, or to buy them as individual add-ons. It might actually be more expensive to do them as multipacks, since they'll take up more room in the printer (and spruing them will be a nightmare :p  ), but I plan on doing some experimenting and see what's the best option.

Thanks very much. My goal was to make each add-on look like it was supposed to have been there all along, so that was rather nice to hear. :D

To give everyone a sitrep: I've got another Shapeways order in now, for Spinister's (and Rotorstorm's) feet and a tweaked version of Hound's, then the next one will be the redone rocket boots for Sideswipe, a possible new design for Wheeljack's feet (since I'm not happy with them yet), and a secret project for Spinister that I reckon, if it works as I hope, should make people rather happy...

    Watch this space... (drink)

I'll be brutally honest, you're gon' be waiting a long time for that to happen, since I don't own, and have no intention of owning, Siege/Earthrise Magnus or GUOP (since I already own CW Magnus, and prefer that design). :p

Plus I kinda have a very full roster of future ideas, which may or may not come to fruition. Like maybe possibly finally finishing that CW Megatron kit that ended up never happening with SND. Maybe possibly followed by a retool to turn the black KO Megs I own into Tarn. Or a kit to add shoulder vents and new heads to the CW leader-class Seekers (largely because I went mental and bought all 3 after realising that... well... I really really utterly loathe the Masterpiece seekers :p  ). Or a new head, to convert Universe Onslaught into Ultra-class Breacher.

Gah, even when I'm trying not to overload myself, I can't help being a shameless tease... :lol

    Thanks skipper!

That one should be a dead easy project, so it's almost certainly going to happen (and then be on sale on my Shapeways store, once it's done, so watch this space). :)

    Great minds, eh? :D

Right, quick update. And it is just a quick update, since I ballsed up the paint and had to order 2 new sets of feet to paint 'em properly, but I want to try out my new camera, so bugger it...

    Spinister's new feet!

    1 - Spinister with foot upgrades.jpg

If you're wondering about size, it bumps him up to just under the height of SS86 Scourge (shown here with a Sweep, since he arrived today, so I already had him on my desk :p  ). And as ye can see, yes they do indeed also work on Rotorstorm:

    2 - Rotorstorm-Sweep Height Comparison.jpg

"But Bonnatron," I hear you silently scream. "If you make his legs longer, doesn't that make his arms weirdly, disproportionately short by comparison?"

And the answer is yes, yes it does. But I have a plan for that.

    Watch this space... ;)

Right, turns out the plan I had for Spinister's arms? Yeah, it didn't work. It made him look like a monkey. So bugger that. :p

Having said that, MAJOR UPDATE TIME... 'cos everything in the thread is now available to buy in my Shapeway store! The link's in my sig, and all the new stuff is in the "WFC Upgrades" section (with almost no markup, 'cos as I said, making money isn't the primary concern of this endeavour). :)

So yes. I completed a project! Ahhhhhh! Which means it's time to tease the next one, since it's the Siege Sideswipe in the piccies attached to this post. NO point trying to guess who it is, though, since it's an OC. I shall be making a thread on him once I get the head finished and painted.

Until then, embiggened WFC figures. Enjoy!

In terms of actual commissions, no, but request away, since there's an odds-on chance I might be planning it anyway. :p

Which, believe it or not, actually literally just happened yesterday, when someone messaged me on Shapeways, and asked me if I'd consider a project that I was already actively planning to do. :D

So yeah, request away! I can't promise I'd take on any requests, but inspiration is always useful.

I keep forgetting to ask, but would be willing to consider a foot riser piece for Kingdom Dinobot? Not sure if it could ever be compatible with dino mode but the thought of combining the slight height boost with Rusticon's Dinomus armor kit is a dream come true.

Hmmmmmmm, d'ya know, I actually have a couple of bits planned for the BW side of Kingdom (that I'm going to do a separate thread on once they're done). That upgrade isn't one of them, but dammit, if you haven't got me intrigued... :p

Leave it with me, I'll do some testin'.
