Spoiler: ENDGAME SPOILERS The Metroid Suit. Fans had designed their own ideas of a "Metroid Suit" for years, now the canon one comes along and it JUST LOOKS SO COOL. I'd be really disappointed if it ended up a one-off just for Dread.
Not really. Spoiler Frankly I think the "Metroid Suit" is probably the worst suit design in the series.
I disagree about its design, it looks far better than the Fusion suit, but I'm thinking more of its power. I want to be able to just go in and kill everything in a few hits. I think it would be great if it even let you take out the EMMIs.
Honestly part of me does want a "new game plus"-type thing. Just blaze through from beginning to end with everything maxed out. I love doing that. But the other part of me recognizes that it completely goes against the design philosophy of the series. Spoiler As for the suit design, I'm not the biggest fan of the Fusion Suit but I like it better than the Metroid Suit. The former kind of works in that it literally looks like a stripped-down Varia suit (since that's more or less what it is). The latter, though, looks more like generic fantasy/RPG "dragon armor" to me than any kind of variation on any of Samus' armor. I get that it's supposed to be evocative of later Metroid life stages, but it doesn't really visually read like that to me.
I'm trying out the Dread demo, this game is definitely impressing me so far. It says "Yes, you want to buy me and bring me home to play."
Amazing game. I've beat almost every Metroid game but this is the first one I've gotten 100% completion on. The bosses are definitely my favorite part of the game.
So I finally got around to grabbing AM2R, booted it up and tried it for a brief moment, looks super cool. Im using an xbox one controller though which im not liking, so gonna see about hooking up an 8bitdo controller. Anyone have any issues connecting the 8bitdo controllers to a laptop via bluetooth? Button mapping? Etc? I've been wanting to play this game since it came out but never got around to it.
Played and 100% Dread again cause I wanted to play it again. First playthrough: about 12 hrs. completion time playing off/on for about two weeks, second playthrough: about 6 hr. completion time playing for two days. Knowing where to go, how to deal with the EMMIs (the Cyan EMMI gave trouble this go around) and bosses made for a smoother play time. I tried doing the shinespark insta-kill on Z-57, but used it too early and missed
Basically, when it finishes using the attack that blows you back, the fans remain on long enough to activate the Speedbooster.
I got my Dread amiibos yesterday. For anyone still looking/interested, you might try Bestbuy.com and see if you can ship from one store to another. That's how I ended up getting mine.
I finally finished this game after taking a little break from it. Ravens Beak is quite easy once you get all the patterns down. With my big hands, I kept accidentally pressing the morph ball button with the aim button, which was messing me up. I died once trying to escape from the facility because I put the controller down to watch the cut scenes. lol I wonder if there's a code that lets you play as Samus in the cat suit. You probably have to finish the game in an hour or something crazy. Hard mode was unlocked, but I doubt I'll play through it again. Fun game overall, though. Finished in 33 hours. lol I spent a great deal of time exploring... and getting killed by EMMI's.
At the Raven Beak battle, and the second stage is... vexing. I'll get it, eventually. This game is pretty solid.
Seems like Wailing him with missiles is the quickest way to do it. Also, use some power bombs when he slams himself into the wall.
