Most collectors wouldn't consider 3 more years to be "coming to a halt", especially since by the time you get to 2024 you'd be looking at just two more years until the 40th anniversary of the movie again, and you'd hear new collectors complain about missing out on the old WFC toys that go for insane prices on eBay. I don't think Hasbro has any long term plan to step back from G1. They'll keep milking that cow as long as it gives milk.

Yes, but it is a compromised one. The options are 1) Siege with the flying brick Cybertron mode with lots of battle damage paint, or 2) Netflix, which has the Earth altmode, was hard for people to find, and still has some leftover Cybertron bits. Plus both are handicapped by the lack of an available Buzzsaw (no I won't get over it).

If I remember rightly, we are supposed to be getting a Core Rumble, which would be larger than the WFC figure. That may mean a new Soundwave able to hold him in his chest. Maybe.

 

Soundwave is the perfect example of "Exactly what I was expecting and I'm more than fine with it!". What I did not expect was Eject since Micromasters sold poorly. Was genuinely worried they would skip them entirely at worst and at best release them in SELECTS. But nope! He come with a casette right away. My guess is Rewind is going to be in SELECTS, maybe with a Soundblaster retool? Rewind is too damn popular with the fans of IDW to be skipped I would imagine. Presumably the others could be retools sold in some SELECTS of pulse boxset of casettes?

 

Cosmos is my favorite character, so I'm for certain in for him (possibly 2 more for my kids), so I'm absolutely dreading this search. I'm not certain if I want Road Hauler or not, he is short packed but if he sells anything like Grapple did, he might be easy to grab. I'm just thankful I'm not in for Scourge; I feel bad for everyone who wants him. And I never have good luck with Walgreens exclusives, so Minerva is going to be a pain.

That all being said, I'm within a good driving distance of 4 Walmarts, so when Velocitron does start showing up, I'm offering to grab some for anyone on here if they need help.

Yes siege Soundwave is getting repackaged in wave 2 of legacy supposedly. Sadly netflix/earthmode Soundwave isn't getting repacked.

 

Is Eject the same size as Soundwave's cassettes?

It's not 100% confirmed, but they're probably reissuing some sort of WFC Soundwave so that there's an SW figure compatible with the SS86 cassettes on the shelves while they're available.

Loving that Blaster. Alongside my pimped out TR Leader Blaster, I’ll be all set with that character in my collection. Gotta love another check in the box!

I dont get why Hasbro is splitting up ‘86 characters into SS86 and Earthrise/Kingdom? Y not just launch them as SS86? Are they saving them to relaunch/retool?

 

If all the 86 bots were in ss86 then there would be no room for bayverse or the bumblebee movie figures, and the same for WFC having to fit BW characters and now UT characters. There just isn't enough room to put them all in 1 line.

And what does it matter? They all fit in together they just have different packaging.
