He ain’t got the prettiest face but it’s been awhile since I messed with him. Decided to paint the visor for a more g1 look since every mfg seems to be going that route. Also, collapsed the abs for a more animated look though it doesn’t lock.

 

I’ve been experimenting with my Zeta Darkgold to see if I could do a head swap using a different face. I think the face/head is a bit small in proportion and not a fan of the look of the face scalp. Here I’m using TE-03 extra head as a stand-in, give a visor and test paint the helmet black....and this is the look result.

Ouch! Totally repairable. What is the deal with Toyworld and Zeta being plagued with screw posts breaking.

I just got my dark/gold Jazzy today and hope I dont have to deal with repairs. I only got this color so I could paint him original colors since tracking down an original is not going well. On the plus side I got him for $39 shipped brand new from Robotoy because the sideview mirrors were missing, score! I also found a store specializing in model car decals and they have the #4 Martini Racing decal kit in the proper scale so I can repaint and decal Jazz correctly, none of this Mortini crap  lol. Since I'll be sanding and painting I'm gonna see if I can mod/fix the head flap, add flip covers for the hands, and change the hands. I'm very impressed with this version of Jazz after getting him in hand though!

 

Anyone have a spare launcher and/or stoic face part? I just got this guy, and I really like it!

 

Here’s a final update on the custom head sculpts, one for Darkgold and one for Coolsville….

Im not a fan of the head sculpt of Coolsville figure….don’t like the look and feel it’s too small in proportion. Decided to customize my own using an extra TE-03 head as a base.




Darkgold is just a helmet repaint. I wanted a different look to distinguish him from Coolsville both bring their own separate character despite their shared mold.





Coolsville is a resculpt. Given the triangular shape of the TE-03 head I’m using the FansToys Jazz as my reference since the head is triangular also. It’s pretty close….the only the decided not to model is the vent in the cheeks (too detailed to do). But TE—03 has his own  

But overall I think I capture the Jazz character I felt this figured was missing. And that baby blue visor really make him feel like the Jazz cartoon

Head swap

 

I'd love to have a custom head for my Coolsville. Just need a stoic face for it.

 

Been a while since I took any photos of my Coolsville. I know he's not the most popular 3rd party Jazz but I love mine. I just took a moment today to paint his face silver because somehow his face got chipped and I decided to just cover it instead of attempting to match the grey, and also to paint his visor a more alive-looking shade of blue.

 

I'm still looking for this if someone here would be willing to part with it. Any version would work.

Also would like a stoic head.
