Actually, the head swap was quite easy. I put Siege Prime's head on Earthrise Prime's body as I liked it better. It was an easy switch with no damage to either figure.

Everything else though, yeah, you are absolutely correct. There is no real way to switch out the neck pieces.

Oh nice. Headswaps (in my experience) tend to wind up being a hellscape that results in something getting stressed/broken on the inside unless the back of the head has a cutout for the balljoint column/pillar that allows it to just pop off.

I can't really tell the difference between the two headsculpts on my copies other than the shade of blue used, the Earthrise/Kingdom head crest looking slightly wider and something with the eyes (the Earthrise/Kingdom eyes look elongated and like there is a much smaller gap on the face between the bottom of them and the faceplate as well as the top of them and the helmet). However, my Kingdom Optimus Prime has the silver paint app applied to the nose (this is really obvious) and in the area of the face between the sides eyes and the sides of the helmet (this sort of needs light to strike it because the area is smaller and has a harder shadow cast but, it's 100% silver on my copy). I'm fairly certain there isn't much paint if any on the face between the sides of the eyes and the nose (it's hard to tell without a magnification tool/device). For clarity my Siege copy was a US release via Target (that I went into and made the purchase at) and my Kingdom version was a UK release via Zavvi (that I ordered online).

So funny story, was cleaning my basement and found an unused $50 EBGames gift card from Christmas. I went out today and found this guy (technically the kingdom repack) and decided hell, I was literally just in this thread talking about him.

Bearing in mind I only got this guy for about $23… I still prefer Siege more. It’s just the better figure IMO. This one isn’t bad but it is compromise central. The trailer is cheap garbage with no undercarriage and a pitiful battle platform armature gizmo. The gigantic hollow space between the wheels looks hideous and the rear doors aren’t even sculpted to look like doors. This is, somehow, even worse than SS DOTM Optimus Prime’s trailer.

The figure itself is much better but still weak IMO. The torso transformation is cool but a letdown when the legs do nothing at all (and really should have compressed for alt mode) and it’s left protruding so far forward. The head is weak with the area around the eyes being left unpainted and the metallic blue is a poor match to the blue plastic. The arms also feel nubby compared to the legs. Siege Prime just has the better proportions and transformation, and ER just feels half-baked. I guess it’s nice to have a plain Jane G1 Optimus in Generations but this doesn’t feel like a mini-MP or definitive version.

Good points. I wonder if the head can be disassembled and the eye areas painted to match the mouth plate.

The head is glued together, so while you could probably pry it apart it'd be tricky and you'd have to glue it back.

Honestly going over this guy there's just so many cheap-outs. Siege Prime was moulded in all the proper colours, but the grey biceps and insides of the legs on this look awful, and the back of the head is painted just like the hands because it's probably also in grey. Why they used metallic blue when the actual blue plastic isn't metallic I also can't understand. This thing is just perplexing and cheap, and feels so far removed from the quality of Galvatron and even Ultra Magnus.

Speaking of, I had big plans to swap Magnus' core robot head and repaint it onto ER Prime for a more cartoon-accurate sculpt, but the damn ball sockets aren't in the same position. They're the same size, just further back on Prime than Magnus. Why? Beats me. Possibly just to annoy guys like me who wanted to swap in the better head. :lol

For anyone who has Kingdom Optimus and the Netflix one, does Kingdom Optimus have the same tight joints, etc? I've got Earthrise and he's a bit too loose for my tastes (playing with my 8 year old).

I don't think that a KO of the Optimus Ion Prime blaster was ever listed there. The sold out items (in the drop down list) aren't what you're looking for, there is a list of what's what if you scroll down that listing page.

I think i'm really late in this thread but i wanted to ask how tall and long is the truck mode (without trailer). I was thinking about getting one of the releases without the trailer and knowing the exact dimensions of the truck is basically vital for my collection.

I don't have a micrometer but, it should be around 2.5" (6.35 cm) high/tall (from where the tire meets the surface up to the smooth flat section of the top of the cab by the shoulder; *edit* the smokestacks add another 0.25" or 0.635 cm */edit*) and, 5.5" (13.97 cm) long (from the front bumper to the longest section of the foot). The Siege version is around 0.25" or 0.635 cm higher/taller (from where the tire meets the surface up to the highest section near the back of the of the cab, I can't measure the smokestacks (because I have an upgrade kit which replaced/elongated the smokestacks with metal and the side of the shoulder with plastic) and around 0.25" or 0.635cm longer.

In case you're curious, the robot height should be around 6.75" (17.145 cm) high/tall (from where the feet meet the surface up to the the tops of the antenna.

    *edit*

The section where the trailer attaches is around 1.125" (2.8575 cm) high tall (from where the tire meets the surface to the top of the blue plastic. The 5 mm hex port that the trailer hitch pops into sits a little bit below the blue plastic so I can't measure that slight drop. The Siege version is the same.

    */edit*

I mean if I had crap like Roller, then I probably wouldn't be able to fit my other Prime's weapons in there. Or maybe I could.
And the lack of the stabilizer thingies on the undersides means i could store MORE weapons under. And as for Prime himself? Almost thought I could replace him as my definitive Voyager Prime with MP-10V. But then I realized, after months if having him, that the MP-10 mold has some pretty...mediocre articulation. ER Prime can kneel and T-pose. That was enough to tell me ER OP was the bot for me. Still like MP-10 tho. He sleeps on the floor because he doesn't come with a trailer. 20211122_001723.jpg 20211122_001812.jpg

I got this guy because over the summer when I got Animated Optimus, I realized I almost had an Optimus from all major continuities. I kept hearing that Hasbro considers this Prime mould, specifically Earthrise, their definitive G1 Prime for quite some time. So I got it. I can’t say I’m wowed by him since G1 Prime, while lovable and a classic, is far from my favorite Optimus character. But for my first G1 Optimus toy, I like it. It looks really accurate to the show, more or less. And Hasbro really probably cannot get much more accurate to the show in a non-Masterpiece scale.

I’m still pretty satisfied especially since I mostly got him to have an Optimus from all continuities. I’m holding out on UT Optimus since I’m hearing some whispers of a new toy in Legacy eventually. But if not I’ll probably go for that Cybertron Optimus they released a few years back to represent UT. After that, there’s also Cyberverse, but I can’t say I’m clamoring to grab that Optimus either.

Order is always reverse, have to add them manually, instead of all at once to have them in order.
