That's cool. I'm glad you like them. For me though there's just something on the thin side to the face. I find this with XTB in general. I just personally don't like some, if not a lot, of their face sculpts. The Gravestone selection are weird to me for example.

Guess it's also fine for not caring about toon accuracy. Aesthetics are subjective but accuracy is objective.

This was basically my first reaction too. The G1 car is so distinctive because of that shelf at the back that it's a shame not to see it carried over here, especially as it might have tidied up the lower bot legs. Shame they couldn't include optional parts for the true alt mode, I wonder if it could be modded somehow?

Keeping an eye on this because it's just nice to have a Western/Rebirth themed MP. I suppose if reviews are decent I'll pick him up...

That's quite an expensive price. If the books are cheaper, buying them is almost no-brainer.

The seller I bought these two books from no longer carry them, else I would have recommended him.

For now, you have to buy them separately to get cheapest price:

    变形金刚方舟I 53.26 yuan (US$8.23)

    方舟II 64 yuan (US$9.89)

    Domestic shipping included.

(I got my books at ~56 yuan each.)

Even at these prices, I felt I shouldn't have bought the second book. :p

Just had another thought about this guy... Obviously the G1 toy didn't have faction symbols on his alt mode, but the old A-Z/Universe profile showed alternate car illustrations for each version, one with a Bot symbol on the hood and the other a Con.
So here's hoping X-TB have designed a flippable panel so he can do either! Looking at the renders there does indeed seem to be a separate square section in the centre of the hood...

Nice catch on that hood panel. Hopefully that's what it is.

Ooooooh, that'd be neat. On the Japanese Ver. at least, you could make out that there POSSIBLY could be something like that. Here's to hoping it is!

Pontiac-Fiero-Race-Car-3-1024x603.jpg Seeing as how XTB is doing some wild recolors are there any cool Fiero decos you'd like to see?

I actually agree with this 100% and rebirth was also the very first tf stuff I watched before anything else.
Faces are off. I don't care too much about the height thing, but yeah. I'm still in and will decide to replace it if we get a better offering in the future.

Just for clarification, it was never the Fiero’s looks that drew strong criticism. The fact that it was a fairly exotic-looking mid-engined sports car initially drew a lot of customers to Pontiac showrooms. Its bad reputation developed from terrible reliability, a lousy power-to-weight ratio, mediocre performance, expensive maintenance, a half-baked interior, and a tendency to explode (1 in 500 sold actually caught fire).

The Fiero was actually a very pretty dumpster fire.

I had a Fiero in the late 80’s. It looked amazing and got all sorts of attention (especially from women) as if it was some exotic sports car. So that part was definitely fun. Beyond that it was a gutless piece of junk that was always breaking down for one reason or another.

All of the above comment about the Fiero can be echoed from any sports car from the 80s. There was alot of shit clunkers out there and I'm glad the 90s sports cars fixed that perception.

Your comment suggested that “people say” it’s not a good looking car. That’s about the only thing that was good about it.
