My Ravage is due tomorrow morning, and then I'll post pics of Goldbug and Ravage. I used to post pics almost every day but I'm playing vidya games lately so I've been a lot more lazy.

I'm nervous about the fact that UPS is delivering Ravage, because as some of you may know I'm a box hoarder. Box damage isn't the end of the world but it's definitely not preferred as I don't throw them away. I hope people will keep giving accounts of how UPS treats their items, as it seems Pulse will be using UPS more, going forward.

Yeah, that's wacky. The 500 units allocated to premium customers sold out within less than 5 minutes. With a 1 per customer limit, it probably should have been at least half of the total. We know there are at least 4500 Premium customers interested in Transformers, as that's how many units Ravage sold before it opened to the general public.

Buy one from Pulse and get extras from BBTS. BBTS does have a 10% markup so it's preferable to get what you can from Pulse before going with BBTS.

 

Got my Ravage in today. I haven’t opened it yet and it looks awesome and all, but it occurred to me how crazy it is that this thing is $53 when last year we got the Pit of Judgment for $70. That’s a voyager, deluxe, legend and a pair figures/accessories in crazy good packaging vs. a voyager and the equivalent of a single micromaster in cool but not quite as cool packaging? I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s been brought up already, it’s just kind of jarring when you have Ravage in front of you.

On the other hand, I remember finding out there was a Japanese Beast Wars Ravage back when I first started using eBay in 99-2000 and thinking how cool, yet out-of-reach expensive it was at the time. So this new one is also a bit of a grail, for me at least.

 

The Pit was also 2 straight repaints, a deluxe retool and 2 non poseable mini figures. Ravage is predominantly a new mold with almost entirely new engineering.

I'm guessing Tape cassette Ravage is a smidge more expensive than a similarly-sized item as well, as it retains the original metal parts and chromed weapons.

That's where I was at with it - back in the late 90s when I was pretty deep into the world of internet Transformers fandom, learning about the Japanese Ravage figure was pretty mind-blowing, even if I could never find him or Tripredacus Agent or anything. I was going to buy Shadow Panther to fill that void in my life, but then suddenly Hasbro announces they're making a new version of that Ravage?? No WAY I was gonna pass on it. Got him yesterday and I couldn't be happier.

Also, I got charged for...two Deluxes today but now I'm not sure who they are because I think I cancelled Shadow Panther? Gonna go find out.

 

I remember thinking the $45 Ravage was originally advertised at was kinda nuts. Dunno where they got the idea to hike it up another eight bucks.

 

I think it's overpriced too. Bought it for FOLO and now I have 2. SMH...

 

I'm going to enjoy Ravage more than I'm going to enjoy Kingdom BW Megatron, so I'm not taking issue with the price!

 

Question for those of you that had your ravage ship ups, did ups make the delivery or USPS?

Looking at my tracking he shows in my city, but tracking says delivery scheduled for tomorrow.

Do I pace my halls or am I safe to run errands?
