That's definitely true, even the regional diaspora varies. For example in Manchester/Yorkshire the diaspora is predominantly Muslim Pakistani with some Bengalis.. go a bit up into Lancashire, Blackburn Preston Bolton, there are more Gujarati Indian Muslims.

There are actually comparatively few Hindu Indians around here which might skew my perception about how many of them end up in some kind of food industry.

Well the Lift Ticket situation is completely strange - it wasn't even a day and it's available to order on a bunch of online stores and Hasbro Pulse regardless of if you have premium or not.

That is plain weird to be honest. I think I'll let it sit.

    -------

Speaking of pre-order and strangeness that Optimus Prime with a stand is sold on Pulse USA - but it isn't sold on Pulse UK and not many places are offering it for sale at all that I can find so far.

Stuck with a classic collectors dilemma...

I got one of the Show-Z cheap ressues of the G1 Optimus Prime cab so that I could replace the original G1 toy in my Prime horde (I've had him '85 and worry about something happening to the old fella) with the shiny new copy. (Dear God, the foil stickers are thin and nasty, even forewarned I managed to rip both the leg stickers)

Except, now I can't bring myself to pack away OG Optimus and instead I'm thinking about how swapping the internal arm mechanisms would give Mark #1 Prime a new, less floppy lease of life.

Hmm... Keep the original untouched and out? Tinker with internals? or just swap out the figure on the shelf?

I'm going to break both of them aren't I?

    Thank you…

My dad passed away a couple of weeks ago, and one of my few photos of him with me is with panthor and skeletor which I must have got for a birthday.

So a morning purchase was made!

I agree and I'm really happy with my current Superion as he is with the PE add-ons.
I'm also fine with my Computron and Abominus.
However a new Defensor could be tempting.

    Cheers Brian!

As I suspected my blood pressure has gone a bit higher and I've got to do a week's worth of readings and take them in.

I'll also be getting a phone appointment on the 22nd which'll presumably be to discuss the results of my blood and piss tests.

With the chest issue over the past week they basically went over what I was told on the phone, so gonna keep an eye on things and hope the weirdness I'd been feeling continues to diminish.

I've drank my last pop for the forseeable future and will have to try and get used to the boringness of water in between cuppas 'cos fruit juice is no less sugary and I'm now looking at non salty snacks....fortunately I have a couple of good options there as I like munching carrot sticks and baby corn which I've stocked up on.

There was a Maybot but she wasn't very strong/stable.

Looks like a chunk of Hasbro's game plan is to slightly repaint central characters from the last three years and throw them in a faux retro box. I personally couldn't give a shite for most packaging and even I'm not daft enough to pay more for it. A lot of retailers are gonna have to discount those retro releases sooner rather than later.

And the thing is, even at a discount with, say, Jubilee, if she looks quite different to the rest of my collection there's no bloody point. It's another reason I didn't buy animated Venom, nobody else from the animated line has that styling to that degree.

That's the name trademark kept alive then (my favourite was a Hot Wheels car called Whiplash so Mattel could keep it for MOTU, also meant Hasbro had to say 'Marvel's Whiplash' when dreary-ass IM2 came out).

Look, we all know plastic is more expensive now, and I would certainly argue that most new toys of characters are better due to sculpting, detail, articulation, how they feel etc.

But sometimes it just hits how much can change in the toy aisle.

Holy FUCK XTB's Ultra Magnus looks good!!

So good, in fact, that posing him next to MP44 makes MP44 look like an absolute pile of crap! :S'

Lift Ticket is just a regular Generation Selects release, Hasbro announcing it during their '1027 event' and giving it a one hour exclusive pre-order window for Premium members was just 'showmanship' on their part - he was never going to be a difficult figure to buy.

Fat Prime is an odd one though, a few UK sellers have listed the Premium Finish figure previously, so you'd expect themto list the not too dissimilar "Tenseg" Prime.

I think that VHS style packaging looks nice but not to the point I'd rebuy figures I already have with cel shaded colours that wouldn't fit anywhere in my present displays.

Packaging in general has a purpose and it's to keep toys safe until they get to me, even with Hot Toys boxes which can be really nice in some instances I'm not overly bothered as long as it arrives undamaged.

I chuckled when I read that Storm is being rereleased with the VHS packaging. The figure that badly needs a remake with pinless joints so it doesn't flop the moment it gets even slightly warm :D

The jiggery pokery with names to keep the trademarks alive is intresting, I'm guessing the reason Trailbreaker was briefly Trailcutter was due to a trademark slipping?

I just live on apple & blackcurrant squash - sugar free stuff, also as I've been told to cut down on saturates as my cholesterol is too high I discovered that soreen malt loaf is actually a fairly healthy snack. I do miss biscuits though....

I found the quality of 'Chinese' takeaways in the UK a jarring drop in quality compared to what you could get back in NZ when I moved here. I found pretty much every dish here would come dripping in a overly sugary sauce whereas outside of a few places/dishes back home, I didn't often come across these. Going down Dominion Road and you were spoilt for choice of delicious food. I still crave a trip to Barilla Dumpling and absolutely stuffing my face with their delicious and massive portions of dumplings.

I agree that Indian in NZ was often very creamy and dirty cheap, but then you'd hear about the owners basically importing slave labour to undercut their competitiors and I didn't feel comfortable eating at any of those cheaper establishments. I also miss the lower cost & better quality sushi you could get there compared to here. Some of the prices at places like Wasabi and Yo Sushi for a single piece are ridiculous. Then again, so is Domino's comparatively.

Yup, I'd imagine so. It's apparently why a bunch of the Micromasters have different names now.

Poor Mattel don't always win, for Classics they had to sell 'Ninja' instead of Ninjor. Though they are sneaky enough to slap names on irrelevant boxes just to say, 'See? Still using it!' lol. I don't know of any other company that wings it as much as them.

Yeah, it makes sense, still a shame though :D

Same here... well except for Rung's impending arrival. There's just something 'off' about that figure for me :-/ but glad you're hyped :)

    :lolol

    :jawdropper: Very nice!
I must admit, having got Siege on Cybertron I'm tempted to get another Nitro or a KSI Boss to give Thunders a body. And I've still never even read a story with the guy, I mostly know hype for him because of this thread :lol

Hmm it's not Superion or any existing Combiner but I'm now imagining a combiner with a Space Shuttle torso with booster rockets and fuel tanks which form combiner kibble/skeleton/whatever.

    Huh, neat :)

Hmm, now I'm imagining something like having the gates he was tearing down in the movie with a panoramic view around it.

Alternatively, incorporate one of these somehow :lol

    Rebecca is a healthcare professional!

I'm going to assume by context that that is a figure of The Fallen?

    My condolences :(
Though hopefully your new figs will conjure some wonderful memories for you :)
