I don't hate it as a descriptor so much as find it a little hard to roll off the tongue.

 

MP does pretty okay for itself. Cordon and Spin-out did get their start there after all, and we've got Reboost coming.
Really hoping that this inspires one of the million third party MP Hoists to get a redeco.

 

At least we know what kind of box they will put victory saber in!

 

honestly, I think it's just something new. The only thing that REMOTELY impressed me last week was Dragstrip, and I need to see the combined mode before I get excited (it shouldn't be hard to improve on CW Menasor, but if the Stunticon Deluxes are just calves and oversized shoulder pads strapped to the super robot mode I'm probably not feeling it.)

Otherwise - Skids and Bulkhead look terrible, Kickback is fine, but just looks like the G1 figure with some more joints and a worse deco, Laser Prime looks notably worse then the original proportions-wise (legs are too long, arms too short) and the deco feels maybe half-baked, Prime Arcee also looks fine, but not really an improvement on the originals or like she's bringing anything new to the table... there just wasn't anything exciting to me really, and they all just wreak of the budgets being slashed. They're completely fine, they're just not moving me. (and not looking anywhere near worth their various price-points, value-wise)

the Diaclone repaints at least represent an underserved part of the brand, bring some cool and interesting history from the franchise, add some new troops to the shelf instead of just replacements for ones I already have, and may have already replaced at least once (although, to be fair, I don't think I ever found TR Kickback...)

and, frankly, he looks really sharp in that deco to me.  

(I did buy the Cordon/Spin-out 2 pack even though I had no interest in that mold - oh my gosh is it terrible! - but it looks "ok" in robot mode, if pretty inaccurate, and the likelihood of that pair getting figures again seems pretty low)

 

Maybe because they are excited for it? People can be excited for whatever they want.

MPs doing pretty fantastic on the obscure redecos, i'ms are when/if they get around to Trailbreaker/Hoist they'll use that mold to death. We've only started seeing Diaclones in the mainline (Minus T30 Crosscut and a pair of Botcon guys) in the last couple years here.
Kinda surprised we didn't see MP Detritus (although I guess the Hound mold was crazy flawed, right?) and the e-hobby "movie" Ironhide/Ratchet decos. (or Detritus in selects or an exclusive)

 

In all fairness, WD was one of the most enthusiastic supporters on the Victory Saber Haslab thread. He definitely wasn’t predicting that one would fail.

I think it’s more an observation on a Haslab once having been perceived as a rarer thing, with a little breather in between them, to now being at a point where they have multiple ones going on at the same time, rather than a prediction of failure. 3 at one time does seem a little ambitious but, as has been pointed out, they’re all aimed at different brands so maybe the impact on consumers will be minimal.

If they ever do multiple TF haslabs at one time, I suspect we’d all outwardly grumble and inwardly geekout/rejoice (as long as they were good)

Lift-Ticket looks cool, but man $30 shipped for a deluxe is too much. I don't know how fans in countries with higher prices keep up with this hobby.

This is precisely why the ignore list exists. Just block me, it will save you a ton of time and hassle. I think you just want to tear into people and talk down to them. That's why I will be using the feature.

Wave 5 has been tossed around by many, not just me. Plenty of people have been fed up with the live streams, not just me. EDIT: WAVE 5 EXISTS!

This is one of those times where Premium does help out a bit. That said, yeah... By the time you throw taxes and shipping onto the pile, it's a killer. As for the fans in other countries, they've been upset about this for years and we're finally understanding their plight.

They have my full sympathy, it's ridiculous how's much they've been forced to pay over the years and it's only going to get worse.  

 

3 different brands and different demographics aimed at among the 3 as well. Sure the overlap is there, but I doubt it is significant enough that Hasbro is worried.

 

Don’t think that was the implication. Don’t recall ever seeing him predicting the fail. Galactus and Victory Saber had the benefit of running alone (there was like 3 days of overlap iirc). If someone was interested in all of them that’s basically $1000 American within a week. Don’t know the overlap but I can see why some may be worried.

 

No one is saying these are doomed to failure. It’s a false claim made by someone here who is jumping to conclusions created by their delusions.I was merely pointing it out how we got more Haslab campaigns then in past years with all three ending in December.

…and it does seem weird running 3 at once, kind of competing against yourself (seems like they could have run them one at a time pretty easy) I’d think there’s more likely overlap between potentially any 2 of the properties amongst fans… (the are all distinctly 80s brands for one)

There certainly are, but I think it just shows that Hasbro is now confident that the system works and is 100% behind doing more campaigns.

If you take everything in those leak threads as set in stone "this is exactly how it is going to be" fact and then also expect Hasbro to reveal everything in a live stream just because you went ahead and spoiled yourself with a laundry list of figures from those leaks, then yeah, the live streams aren't going to live up to your expectations.

But remember, with waves the card is subject to change, and things might not match up with those leak lists or even sometimes retailer solicits anymore. Wave 5 may still be coming, or it got pushed back and it isn't coming out as planned anymore. Maybe the wave was outright canned a long time ago and those figures got shuffled off into another release (or just off to oblivion)? Either way, there's no reason to throw a hissy-fit over it.
