Weird. Looks like you've got everything else squared away. You should only need to firmly press down the cockpit to get it to sit flush. Yours looks just like how mine looks if you just drop the cockpit down, before firmly clipping everything down. Not sure what could be resisting you otherwise. The only other thing that seems to prevent the canopy from closing up smoothly is if you don't have the corner panels folded properly out of the way, but it looks like you've even let them just fall off while you're futzing with it, so that can't be the problem.

When the circled grey tabs go up into the cockpit, they're right next to these yellow panels that hang down. Do they go on the inside of them or outside? That's the only thing I can thing that might be holding things up. But also, I can't for the life of me get that grey center panel to be flush/even in height with the back half of the ship.

Those grey plastic parts should wind up on the outside of the cockpit walls. But there shouldn't be any conflict there. There's a good 1-2mm clearance between the parts. Those tabs only function in robot mode. They do nothing in Ark mode. Nothing seems warped in any way.

Wait a minute, I just noticed that you've got those snap off panels pegged to the underside of the ship mode. Those might actually be what's interfering.

The corner panels need to come all the way down to let the cockpit sit flush, but you don't seem to be letting them do that, because you don't have those parts snapped together.

[edit] Eh, I tried that out myself, but yes and no. Technically, that's the case. But those panels don't clip in place that firmly. I found that anytime I tried to close the cockpit, those panels might stop it, but most attempts would simply cause them to fall off. Nothing that should stymie you for the better part of an hour.

Really not sure what's going on. Nothing seems warped from any of your images, that could cause a problem. It all glides together fairly smoothly on mine. The only thing that should get in the way of the cockpit closing is the arms, but that's all squared up.

I just had a thought. Do the legs make an audible click when you tab them into the crotch, or a click that you can feel? Mine never did, and so I can't tell if they're in all the way.

I don't believe so. The legs hold themselves together, with all that jigsaw-ing going on with the bottoms of the feet. Either way, that shouldn't prevent the cockpit from coming down all the way.

I have this awhile but I've been put off opening him up because of some of his qc issues mentioned here. I love the idea of the ark and a homage to the last autobot too but don't want to be disappointed with him.

The homage is definitely what put it over the top to a 'must-have' for me. I'll have to make a pic with him, Vector Prime and the panel from the comic book after I get him for sure.

    Nice.

I love the cybertron vector prime from a few years back so I may do the same. I need to clear a space for the ark too and that involves moving stuff around and storing some stuff away.

I haven't even transformed him yet since September. Got him for the ship mode. Even Mainframe is untouched and like the geeky nerd I am playing woosh woosh recreating the scene in the original pilot episode.
Nemesis when? If Hb does plan on releasing one make him a playset tranforming to a Tower Kolkular like Skygarry. None of it turning into a robot. Last Autobot homage fits the Ark but Nemesis transforming? I can't just see it.
