Nostalgia, for me. G2 Brawl, Vortex, and Blast Off were among my first toys ever. My best friends had Swindle and Onslaught. I tried to get them to give them to me, but they weren't having it. Then they moved away, so I was never able to bring my toys over to combine the set even though we'd always planned on it. But yeah, reminiscing aside, I think Ruination will probably still happen, but I'm guessing as exclusives.

 

They think G2 is more popular. Sadly for me, they're almost certainly correct.

 

I can't say I'm a fan of the G2 colours but if others want it good for them, hopefully the other recolours happen too

 

Cost is probably a factor too. This set you can just use the already colored plastic and use VERY little paint to get the job done. Whereas Ruination has all of that wonderful metallic paint and a lot more detail.

 

I know with Baldigus/Ruination I care even more about being able to swap the arms and legs since he actually did it in the cartoon, though that obviously won't happen with this set.

I prefer Mega-Octane ("Onslaught") in the US toy colors with grey combiner parts over the gold. Both his shade of green and the gold parts never looked good to me in the cartoon and Japanese version of the toy. That said I've never seen anyone else express that feeling so I doubt saying it has any real meaning.

 

I don't really care if Ruination can limb swap since I have a preference for Movor and Ro-Tor as arms. Plus they only ever had Rollbar and Armourhide as arms all of like twice.

Plus if this one gets made it will be the only MP Ruination ever to be made.

 

Watch now that MMC showed off G2 Zeta decides to present a Ruination repaint.

 

As someone who used to own Zeta Blastoff and Brawl that would not alter my decision in any way. I gave them away instead of selling them.

I am sure I am in the minority, but I find the combiner garish yet the individual bots look like a lot of fun. Can't believe I'm considering buying these bots again.

He is so definitely absolutely NOT a Leopard 1A1. He's a 1A4. They have completely different turrets.
