Really? My vendor is checking on the ETA because they currently don't have one. Even LazyAza said he's not sure when they're doing the release. But he may not be privy to every detail of the operation.

 

Yeah so I contacted PSX through Facebook, mine was sent out last week, the site just wasn't updated. They change my status to track shipping now.

 

id rather not dig through 50+ pages of thread, are there plans to release this as a non-exclusive? like, through bbts and tfsource?

 

no...mmc was contracted to supply a con exclusive and it ended up being the originally planned PSX only Mentis. So agesthreeandup and thechosenprime are probably the only others who will get it. But you never know if there is stock left over...tfsource and bbts have gotten some in the past.

 

I wouldn't mind if MMC did what they did with Mentis and just make characters they think wouldn't sell well PSX exclusives that are made to order for those that want them that way they don't have to consider taking a big risk of them not selling and we get the characters we want that they thing won't sell great.

 

So, what do you reckon our chances of getting Minimus Ambus are now then?

Don't get me wrong, I don't say "this is wrong - disagreeing totally with you there!". Just want to discuss it a little more.
I mean...if they would consider a figure to not sell well right from the get go, they would likely not produce it at all. Sure, sometimes you (they) would produce something that they anticipate to not sell like crazy but pulling it off nevertheless out of strategic reasons (MTMTE/LL fans, fanbase bonding, brand development, showcasing their exclusivity, whatnot) and since this one figure may still justify production but just not production of a huge stock. This then on PSX as an exclusive...feeling response rate...maybe going into a bigger mass production for broader distribution depending on the uptake. This may also work better with tiny molds (Rung) vs. big molds.
But I suppose this wouldn't be the business model for more than just *very few* characters.
But here's hoping I'm wrong! Since I would also love to see this more!

Been reading back through this thread and seeing the Con Exclusive stuff. I pre-ordered through TF Direct and haven't heard a thing about paying the balance. Have sinking feeling I'm not getting a Rung  

 

Exactly this for me. Though MMC's G2 Bruticus reveal also has me pondering how to come up with ~$600 now.

 

Got mine from a friend who ferried him to me from TFCon. I'm very impressed with this figure for the size it's at. It's maybe got the best head sculpt I've seen on a TF, and I love his poseability. My only real complaints are that it feels like I overpaid for him a bit, He's not really worth 125, and his midsection's a bit plain. Still, can't be too mad when he's now the centerpiece of my LL crew.

 

I mean you did technically overpay as he was up on PSX for preorders for $88 before shipping, 1st 10 people who preorder got free shipping like me, others ended up being around $106 after shipping.

 

I know. I missed the preoder. saw it go live, told myself I'd go for it once I got my paycheck a few days later, forgot all about it. By the time I remembered, he was gone.

 

Limited run piece of an IDW favorite from a 3P company during a pandemic? I’d say the cost is acceptable, and I was surprised the first run wasn’t more expensive. You basically paid what the second run folks will be paying without shipping….and you have your Rung before I do
