So I had a random thought after pulsecon, Benjamin Burnley fealt like such a random guest to have on, what if he's doing some music for RotB? Probably not but I can hope. I was a huge Breaking Benjamin fan back in the day and it'd be cool if they became the new "iconic Transformers movie band" moving forward for this new continuity like how Linkin Park was for the bayverse.

I suppose that also in ROTB she will be of a smaller stature, almost like that of a human.

 

Indeed-and there was also the fact that Bay had a handful of editors working on the same movie, at the same time. I don't even want to imagine the nightmare of coordinating 5 or 6 editors trying to meld their edits into 1 coherent rough cut. . .And then having to do it all over again for the final cut, the answer print, the work print, the release print, and the trailers and teasers. I tell ya-all the production staff, including the VFX folks, the maintenance folks (who had to replace all the burnt-up motherboards in those humongous render farms), the musicians, the film lab folks, and those involved in distribution were most likely burning the candle on both ends. . .

 

It could work.

 

That and her whole arms at least on this figure look way too small and too skinny proportions to the body and especially the legs and thighs.

I think it's pretty cool how the windows form his wings. Not a fan of how the chest warps, though. That's an immediate guarantee that any toy of him will be impossible without a major part of his robot mode using fake parts.

 

This is really good! If he looks anything like this, I'm satisfied.

Whilst that may apply to the Heisei and MonsterVerse Ghidorahs (and less so for Anime Ghidorah), it doesn't to GMK Ghidorah: he, in personality if not appearance, is fundamentally different to every previous or subsequent incarnation of the character.

Firstly, he's earthly in origin (as opposed to being alien - to the time period or the planet) and is a heroic figure, facing off against a villainous Godzilla (who he is less powerful than - and slightly shorter too) - pretty much every other Ghidorah is a villainous kaiju who opposes an anti-heroic Godzilla. Whilst GMK Ghidorah is a gigantic, golden three-headed dragon, in personality and role, he is so different to any other Ghidorah, he might as well be a nameslap.

Put it this way - Bayverse Soundwave was more faithful to the character he was based on than GMK Ghidorah was to the character he was based on. G1 Soundwave is a Decepticon lieutenant with telecommunication abilities, who acts as a spymaster, has Ravage and Laserbeak for sidekicks and is loyal to Megatron. Bayverse Soundwave is a Decepticon lieutenant with telecommunication abilities, who acts as a spymaster, has Ravage and Laserbeak for sidekicks and is loyal to Megatron.

Bayverse Soundwave took away the two least important traits of a Soundwave (the colouration and the vocoder voice) - however, because they're the most obvious ones, people went ballistic over it.

Re: Battletrap, it's possible that ROTB might do to Battletrap what TF07 did for Barricade - it's possibly that ten years from now, Battletrap's going to be an orange Decepticon that turns into a dingy pickup truck, in much the same way as Barricade is a police car Decepticon.

 

That's unlikely, given POTP Battleslash and Roadtrap. Barricade was just a generic name used for a micromaster and then later the core figure for Energon Bruticus Maximus.

 

Obviously, this is just me inferring, since this is, IRRC, (a) Battletrap's first significant appearance in mainstream fiction (outside, of course, BotCon exclusive comics). Obviously, the name isn't as nebulous as Barricade or Blackout (the latter of which was the name for two separate characters from Energon - one of the Bruticus Maximus components and a Terrorcon), but still...

 

I dunno, given Battletrap is a Duocon and his compatriot Flywheels did make a short but rather prominent appearance during the original IDW G1 run. Namely, he's one of the Scavengers and is the only one to die (by Tessarus's hand, or rather chest) when the DJD make their grand appearance.

 

He took the whole Goddamn bakery.

 

Funny enough I feel the opposite I like the warped chest but am not a fan of the window wings (but they have grown on me). The warped chest makes him look less big and bulky like Bulkhead (or Legacy Bulk but I still like that design though).

Yes Arcee, Nightbird and Prime where described as looking very g1 in robot mode with Prime being his model from Bumblebee with more silver.

 

Bumblebee too, according to our peruvean friend who had concept art sent to him, he said Bumblebee despite turning into a Camaro now (and not being the rushed design from the end of the bee film) still features the head, arms, feet and overall proportions from the Bee movie, so it is clear the film is keeping continuity with those designs.

 

Really where did he say this? Either way I like it cause I overall just love that design for Bumblebee the cute, less detailed more expressive face, the way his feet and legs, and arms look, it's just perfect for a LA BB (even with a bay-ish face).



I'm curious to see what has changed tho, hope he keeps that battle mask
