I've told some people that I'm working on this. Basically my friends and I are re-editing the Transformers movie. Taking out all the stupid pee jokes and all the stuff that's really stupid.

Also we're moving some scenes around and we've COMPLETELY removed the "Hackers" from the movie. As in, they're not even in the background of the movie anymore.

Oh and we changed the ending of the movie.

OH! And no more Linkin Park songs!

So anyway, this is just a little 15 second teaser trailer that I made. We'll have the entire movie up and on the web on 7-4-08.

I'm very interested in this. Let me know when you've finished, please. I love fan-edit projects like this.

 

I've seen some great re-edits. I'm looking forward to this.

 

I didn't mind the Linkin Park song at all, in fact I liked it, though I'd prefer the rest of the credits to be with the score.

And what can you do anyway? If you cut a good 20 minutes off the movie what will you be putting in?

 

May I make one reasonable suggestion and one cool-if-it-happens suggestion?

The former: add the transform sound into the transformations. Don't overpower the existing sfx, just make it subtle.

The latter: pay Frank Welker and get him to re-dub Megatron's lines.  

 

Well we're not adding a whole lot. What we've added are just some slight visual and audio effects.

The project is really more about taking what was good about the movie and showcasing that and reinterpreting scenes to make them better. It's also about getting back down to a reasonable run-time. I'm one of those guys who thinks movies are too long these days.

A phantom edit would be good to see... but I'm 'fraid the trailer didn't show anything. If I had a gripe, half of it was DREAMWORKS and PARAMOUNT logos.

I'd just like to see something before I get all excited over it.

 

I'd love to see it, if only because it does away with the stupid "pissing" scene. I refuse to buy or own the movie as-is, but if this is improved enough, I may bite and keep a permanent copy.

Can you legally release something like this?

 

Yeah, we're going to put a torrent of it up. It'll be free, this is not for profit.

And yeah, the trailer was just a tease to let people know about the project. Maybe we'll do another one at some point, I mean we still have like 4 months till the release date...

 

Since you took out Linkin park from the movie I've lost my total interest on this proyect. Otherwise it sounds interesting removing the hacker stuff, maybe not all of it, but definately remove Glenn's character.

 

Absolutely love the live action movie but I'm definitely up for seeing a fan edit, especially if the hacker sub plot is sliced out.

Will be interesting to see this when it's done. The film could benefit greatly from a good edit. If only they had done one more script edit before they started filming it could have been so much better. Anyway, getting rid of the hackers is the easiest and most effective way to improve the movie.

 

That "trailer" didn't do anything for me. Hopefully the actual edit will be better... editted.

I guess the only people who like Linkin Park in the movie is me and Dropshot.

 

I dont get it. Sounds like alot of effort to effectively fast forward scenes out of a movie. I know alot of people dont like magie and glen but by loosing them dont you loose frenzy or at least his death scene?

 

So I'm guessing the fan edit will only be about thirty minutes with all the stupid stuff removed.
