How long does post production last?

 

Until the movie comes out, more or less.

 

It can last literally up to the day before a movie releases. You’d be surprised how insanely easy and common it is for companies to add or remove things from a movie at the very last minute.

Bay was still working on ROTF literally the day of the premiere. It's almost a miracle they managed to finish the vfx for that movie. Also, a guy from ILM spoke about TF1 in a conference and said they were working on the Starscream vs F22s sequence just weeks before the premiere.

 

Since we're on the topic of post-production, I really doubt they can make the summer date, to be honest.

This film has been said to be on a Bay-level sort of scale, so there's no doubt that they have a whole lot of CGI and general editing to do (we're not even talking reshoots, which most movies do have).

It took Bumblebee like 5 months to get a 5 minute Cybertron sequence done + a new beginning with Bee crashing on Earth. If you want another example, The Batman, a technically less complicated movie, finished filming just this March, and it's going to be releasing a whole year later from that date.

I hope I'm wrong because I am genuinely curious about how this movie turns out. So much of this film has made me raise an eye, but Paramount is basically on its last legs, making me wonder why they would shoot themselves in the foot especially during a pandemic.

 

Technically they didn't even mange that if you recall, since they released an improved version halfway through the run.

Not like that really improved a movie that's, really, only meant to be a stage play and is really about a feline suicide cult.

 

Ya know, normally the post production of the movie begins during the filmining, what I mean is, when a scene is filmed, they send it directly to the post-prod to gain time.

 

Well, there's a piece of metal around Noah's arm and many theorize that it was wheeljack that built.

Also to rumors of interdimensional portals, if thats true Noah's metal arm can open these portals and that would show how smart wheeljack is.
