Dezaras looks nothing like Deathsaurus whereas fellbat and ironbison are actually recognizable as hellbat and killbison.

 

That's just what happens when Hasbro reuses molds. Not having a direct physical resemblance was particularly obvious with the CW Technobots, yet there's no dispute over who they were, and it's still the same line. It is also known that Hasbro has a history of redecoing or additionally minorly retooling some figures and passing them off as new characters, but the figure itself doesn't really resemble the character's G1 appearance. For that reason, I don't think this disproves that Dezarus is Deathsaurus.

 

There's no fiction to support it either way, there's no resemblance to support it either. This is one of those instances where the fans can literally see it whichever way they want. There's no right or wrong answer.

Wouldn’t Rodimus also have been a supreme commander? And seeing as Optimus passed off his duties to Ultra Magnus wouldn’t he have been supreme commander for a little bit as well?
