Cobra officer from Wallyworld, card was a bit jacked up though. Do you guys think they are abandoning the retro 25th style figures in favor of the o-ring figures now?
I see, thanks for the comparison pic! I think they’ll get to it eventually, the opportunity was there to take advantage of ARAH 40th anniversary hype and they took it. Maybe retail support for Classified is higher or anticipated to be higher than ARAH 3.75 hence why Classified hasn’t had a Haslab yet. For a Classified Haslab I don’t think it should be a HISS I since that wasn’t physically that big. I think that has a chance at retail(HISS I is popular enough and I think they can get it to retail at a MSRP lower than $100). I think a Classified Haslab would be fitting for something bigger like a HISS Tank II or the Resolute HISS Tank which looked like the biggest one onscreen. Resolute also fits the modern looks and like the HISS II, can transport troops.
I absolutely concur with the sentiment that it’s a pilot test and that they’re already in deep discussion - if not design - on a HasLab Flagg.
Marvel Legends have been my bread and butter for the last almost 20 years, minus the hasbro takeovers first shaky few years of crappy and undersized figures. That said Classified has been my favorite Hasbro line the last almost 2 years even with all the target BS and weak looking Origins figures. I don’t even have a spot for mine but all my Cobra squad is always on display wherever i can find temp space for them. Saw the leaked list everyone has been talking about finally on FB and if that is what we are getting i’m excited for 2022.
I hope you're right @Shin Densetsu. While I loved the orings as a kid, the 25th line definitely is where my heart is as a joe fan.
I’d hate to see Hasbro done with the new retro figure molds they used for some of the Walmart retro joes this soon. Especially given the improvements in articulation.
So the same guy that resculpted the 2011 30th anniversary Storm Shadow for the Retaliation Wave 4 Ultimate ARAH Storm Shadow and Classified Arctic Storm Shadow is the same sculptor behind the Classified Storm Shadow revealed yesterday. Digital sculpt shown here and it shows the hold placement without the extra hood down piece that was shown in the stock photos with the hood on: Login • Instagram
Yep that's it. I found out about it in college and it was way out of my budget for any dealers who even had one. And ebay wasn't as reputable as it is now, if that's saying anything.
Leaked lineup of GI Joe Classified figures for 2022? I believe I posted it here back when it originally leaked, but there you go. In case anyone is feeling lazy: January: Deluxe Crock Master and Croc February: Spirit, Storm Shadow, and Cobra Officer April: Tomax, Xamot, and Stalker June: Crimson Guard, Zarana, and Dusty. Deluxe Viper and Viper Officer two-pack. Target Wave 1 Exclusives: Tiger Force Outback, Python Patrol BAT, and Python Patrol Viper. Yesterday's reveals pretty much proved this listing correct (along with the full case listing having a secret figure with Spirit and Storm Shadow). The only thing that seems to have changed is the release dates due to all the shipping issues. No idea where the normal BAT fits in, but if this list still holds completely true while also taking the reshuffled release dates into account we likely won't see the normal BAT until 2023 at this rate.
Salvo comes to mind. Rock n roll. Bazooka. And that's just using deco repaints. Change the mold of chest and you could prob do a seal style shipwreck, or maybe a dreadlocks or 2 with new chest and head sculpts. Maybe even mercer with a vest and head swap.
Skystriker has passed the Rancor despite the latter having a day's lead time. Safe to say they'll probably both make it. I wasn't too interested in the Rancor even before the Skystriker but may have gone ahead and pulled the trigger if they hadn't run these simultaneously.
I'm going to have the Rancor eat the Skystriker. That's how I'm justifying my stupid decision to get both.
I think I heard a sigh of relief from my wife when I told her I had no interest in the Rancor or the Skystriker... especially since I'd already backed Galactus and Victory Saber this year.
Same for me with TF as well, but have to say I never thought I would jump into collecting Joes until I saw them in hand with the CI line, heck even the movie line I ended up getting. (thankfully those are only 5 figures ) Also kind of surprised at the cost of the Stryker haslab price, at first glad thought it was for the 6 inch line and would have definitely jumped on funding it but the wallet is glad that it's not
I think that with the reveal of the standard deco B.A.T. as the first one out of the gate we'll see it sooner than '23.
Oh nice!!! Thanks for sharing. I love looking at the grayscale sculpts of these. Like a broken record, I was hoping for the Blackout design but I do want a nice vintage SS as well. How did you like him @Shin Densetsu ? I haven’t had a chance to sit and post my thoughts on the reveals but it’s great to finally be able to talk about some of this. It’s been a rough weekend but I did squeeze in some time to watch the panel and put in some pre orders. Didn’t watch the rest of PC but it sounds like Joe won it hands down. I knew there was some retro 3.75 pack coming but I thought it was a Walmart thing and not the return of O Ring Joes. And I didn’t know about the Haslab either. There’s a bunch more stuff in that time period for next year that hasn’t surfaced yet, a few of these will be showstoppers for sure. I know about up through Sept and it’s a doozy. I need to find a lucrative side hustle or 2
