And this thing looks to retail for $100...thats why I dont get a lot of the haslab pricing stuff. The new rancor is $350; Mattel did classics snake mountain for like $600. I get that there are paint apps, quantity scaling, etc...but this seems like there could be some middle ground.

As has been said before... economics of production scale come into effect when it comes to limited run items that aren't being done at retail.

I get that for sure...but if you have something like 12000 unicrons sold where does the price break come in during manufacturing, etc? How many of these batcaves can they really be selling?

Note; I'm just using unicron as a bad example, I dont really expect such high part count and dense figure to be comparable.

I'm guessing it just really comes down to whether or not an item can be put out at retail and anything over $100 is a hard sell.

When it comes to the amount of merch ordered at retail you aren't looking at thousands (usually a couple thousand is the minimum backing for most HasLab projects) or even billions... you're looking at trillions being produced worldwide going to mass retail chains. That really does make a huge difference.

Too many pages to go through, but didn't one of our resident leakers say that this guy was indeed coming with his Mini-con?

    I
I do agree, both the new Haslabs are really pushing it on cost (just like Unicron did) - I feel the Razorcrest and Victory Saber were about on point price-wise for this type of offering, but I see nothing about that Rancor that doesn’t look like it should be $250 at the most, and nothing about the Skystriker that says “this should be more than Victory Saber” I get that it’s better than the last one, but is it anywhere near 4-1/2 times better?

There's 11,000 Walmarts in the world. Allowing exactly one per store, that's Unicron's entire run.

    If each Walmart gets 2, that's 22,000. If each Walmart gets 3, that's 33,000. If each Walmart gets 4, that's 44,000.

I saw three at Target yesterday. They will probably get more.

If I were lowballing the amount of these things they make, I'd say about 75,000.

See, while I was half on Tidal Wave, the issue is a Titan Tidal Wave wouldn't (Simply through size) be able to do his merge with Megatron which is, a bit of a part of his whole thing.

Its why I've settled into being fine with Commander Tidal (well that and i'm probably gonna throw down for a certain 3rd party one because Tidal Wave can be any size he wants and it'll work with anything)

If Tidal Wave was going to be made to combine with a new Armada Megatron he would have to be smaller than Commander Jetfire (unless Hasbro's making the new Megatron the same size as the original toy which we all know they won't) and said Megatron would have to have some amazing ratchet joint on ever single possible limb he has aside from his head.

Although I will say I don't really need Hastak to make a Titan Tidal Wave for now. As long as it doesn't fall through the just announced MP scaled one will work just fine.

Yeah, gives us a big leader Megatron, probably with Leader-1, who can support the weight of a commanderish Tidal Wave and pose, everyone wins basically. And hey, they do GenSelects of titans, so we could also get differing colors down the line. Only hiccup is it might make getting Armada Galvatron less likely

Something I just realized: the clear accessory could be how metroplex gets his cyber key. They could make it double as a sheild or something for drill bit

I hope so, they've got to do something with all those accessory slots.
