I don't see the correlation. They're taking fan favourite characters that already cost a premium, charging a £40 premium for the not guaranteed at all chance to own them, then having the audacity to actually call it Premium. All because they deliberately created a shortage of the product. They could sell Agent Ravage and Zartan at retail all day long. They've made store exclusives of much less.

Like diehard music fans aren't charged to play an access lottery, the perks are open to whoever applies in the appropriate time. And it isn't an hour.

I'll keep an eye out, cheers!

It's actually a very smart move: by charging premium for the more popular characters (e.g. Commander class Rodimus) they can get some buffer to experiment with less popular darlings (e.g. Leader Class Legacy Armada Side Swipe)

That's not correct. The fee you pay for Premium comes with SEVERAL perks, to have access to this event is just ONE of those perks.

They make you pay more for better treatment and various privileges, e.g. preordering new toys before everybody else. That's the whole point of a Premium service.

You could apply this reasoning to any limited edition. Kapow Toys deliberately created a shortage of Hubbartrons - because they are a Kapow exclusive.

Those products were designed beyond the scope of existing price buckets. They could have been a Target exclusive or an Amazon exclusive, in this case they are a Pulse exclusive. But retail was out of the question from inception.

And now they are making store exclusives of more interesting characters, with more interesting offerings.

Did you ever try to get a good ticket for a concert of a popular band?

Two birds with one stone: they are rewarding existing Premium users, validating their choice of joining, and they are leaving the door open for new users, welcoming them with open arms. And they are doing so by ADDING value to what already exists. They are improving their Premium service: wasn't this what people wanted? Better reasons to pay for Pulse?

Welp, I have nothing to do today. Time to spend the next 20 or so hours watching an 'okay' film trilogy followed by the GREATEST film trilogy of modern cinema (in my opinion, of course :D  )

My pal in Oxfordshire had been recommending it to me for a while but I wasn't sure where I'd be able to watch it without being disturbed as watching it downstairs in the living room would require negotiating with my parents for use of the TV and I'd still have to put up with one or other of them talking over it because they didn't really want it on.

BBC iPlayer is still not playing ball and allowing me to sign in on my PS4 so I've watched the first 2 series on my computer in the hallway and have shut the living room door to drown out the din from either the TV being too loud because of my folks declining hearing or both of them shouting to each other because of same.

Series 3 is going to be my post football entertainment because barring a freak result I'll definitely need a laugh and there's been so many moments in the first 2 series where I've laughed so much I've had to clean a drink from my computer screen :D

    Some highlights,

Bob's impression of Robert DeNiro :D

Paul doing various bits & pieces from The Fast Show including the "Cheesy Peas" thing :D

Bob falls over a LOT. One time he got so excited when they got a bite he fell over in the boat they were in :D

Pike fishing in Ireland. So they both started doing Dad's Army impressions and then went on to have brief chat about Wacky Races :D

Bob casts off and the reel then falls off the rod :D

The back and forth banter over their health issues and getting old :D

This show gets the full Keegan....Love it, LOVE IT! :D

The thing that annoys me the most about the pulse exclusives is how random their availability is outside of pulse service area....
I could easily order the ravage set i'm not interested in from several different options while the galvatron set i wanted is Indemand or nothing.

Having read a few Marvel Legends threads, Toad being confirmed by the spiel on the back of the 20th anniversary packaging has made me less grumpy.

I love Gone Fishing, but I do feel having watched and enjoyed it I’m now part of a different demographic.

You know how every podcast er these days sells their own merchandise? We need that phrase on tshirts to donate to attendees to toy fair, sdcc and the like.

    You do Sundays well.

Just finished decorating our lane for Halloween, and just about to launch into a chip butty while watching the last part of only.murders in the building. Fun!

Although I did read an interesting counterpoint to the "they should just CGI it" which is that by and large practical effects teams and unionised whereas VFX teams aren't. So "get the CGI team to do it" means "make the CGI people work longer hours without any pay increase or we'll just fire them".

Ravage is a PulseCon21 release, available wherever wants to stock it. Galvatron is a Selects release just like all the others, but exclusive to Pulse for retailing.

It's weird, but it's specific rules that are followed.

Ravage is not a Pulse exclusive. Galvatron is.

For me the Classified Series reveals were the highlight of PulseCon.

Storm Shadow is pretty much perfect and if that had been the only new figure it'd have been fine but the other new ones also look top notch.

Aside from some of the early colour schemes the quality of the figures in this line has never been the issue, obtaining figures easily has been the real drawback.

I don't have a huge knowledge about Joe characters as I only had a handful of figures as a kid but more characters with animals is obviously my cup of tea particularly when they're done so well.

I think the HasLab Skystriker looks very nice but I'm not collecting 3.75" GI Joe so would have preferred something for the Classified Series.

I reckon they could do a H.I.S.S. Tank and A.W.E. Striker for somewhere in the same ball park as the Black Series Snowspeeder so HasLab wouldn't be required for either....something bigger would be more suited such as the Mauler tank as a potential counterpart for a H.I.S.S. Tank.

I was also happy to finally see a Cobb Vanth figure and both him & Mayfeld look good but they weren't suprises as they were already known about.

Confirmation of Toad for Marvel Legends would have been better with pics but good to know he's definitely happening.

With official Transformers I never go into events with any expectations, it's usually a suprise if there's something I want but this time no deal although I do like the basic concept of what they've done with Bulkhead.

Just been looking at more pics of pointy mask Iron Man and cannot unsee the Charles Bronson likeness on the Tony Stank head :D

Wonder if anyone will use it on a Punisher body?

    EDIT,

MMC have just shown the retail colours of Eris, so that'll be available soon, fingers crossed, and maybe might scratch that itch for you
