i wish your 3d prints were cleaner. the print lines are still pretty visible. but i really like the mini sharkticon head. will your final prints be better or worse than these?
The final prints will be better than this, however, the nature of 3D printing is that there will always be some lines. Unfortunately, the metallic paint does tend to highlight this somewhat as well. These are printed with the highest resolution 3D printer technology available to the general public at this point. The cleanup on the production set will be better, however to keep the price reasonable, there is only so much time we can put into each item so it won’t be flawless. We were anxious to get some photos out of an assembled set, though, so the final prints will have more time in them.
I actually like the grainy look. It makes all the pieces look more earthy, more primal, more stone age, more primitive. If I buy a set, can you keep it the same quality for me personally? Or would that be too difficult? You know what, I'll wait until I see pics the more refined versions and I may yet up just getting the set as is regardless.
Sorry I missed you, man! We were only there for a little while, and when I saw Venus Terzo wasn't there I decided to leave early. I hope you did good sales
I hope you don't mind me asking, but what kind of printers are you running, and how large is your operation at the moment?
The website is now live and up to taking orders if you would like to order a single piece or the whole set.
Here are some pictures of the final print settings for the Throne and what it looks like unpainted for those that might want to paint it themselves. Painted and Unpainted are available for purchase now for those that might want a set under their tree this year.
Picked this up at TFCon Baltimore last month. Been super busy so wasn't able to get shots done and up until now. You can see our full set here: King Grimlock Upgrade Set @ TFW2005 Quick Thoughts: Good quality, everything is heavy and feels good in hand. Paint is well applied, no chunky blobs or streaks. I dig the Sharkticon shoulder pieces. It's a cool concept, glad it's out there in the world. Throne fits perfectly, the recessed part below the seat work with Grimmie's big boots. Bottom line, this is what an upgrade set should be - a way to enhance an already good figure, rather than fixing it. Some shots:
