I always forget about both of the official beast modes because, that's not how gorilla's legs work. Both beast modes pretend that the knee down is the entire leg. While gorilla legs are shorter than their arms, the legs still have thighs (complete with hamstrings, quadriceps, and so on). Both official beast modes look like there is only a calf, shin, and so on between the foot and the hip rather than an entire leg. That picture exacerbates the issue since the hips are extremely hyper-extended due to the upper torso being completely vertical and the legs not being transformed to the standing beast mode (which wouldn't help because it loses knee articulation).

I always leave the legs in robot mode (with the calf swivels rotated around so that the beast feet point forward) and, I just deal with the robot thighs being fully exposed and the legs being too long so that the legs retain their proper movement and muscle/joint structure. It's unfortunate that there isn't also a hinged thigh panel (similar to KBW Rhinox but without any tabs) because that would have solved hiding a lot of the white on the legs (at all times if desired) without sacrificing the anatomy (other than long beast legs while in standing beast mode) as well as the movement. An additional joint in the lower leg would have been another fix but, the shin hinge would need to be smaller/shorter and further down and the lower robot leg would have looked really weird since it would need to look like a thigh and a calf at the same time. Hasbro/TakaraTomy will eventually get to the point to where less compromises need to be made on a mass release general retail gorilla (e.g. a super refined and realistic looking/proportioned Blast Punch Optimus Primal) and, I'm really looking forward to seeing that.

The official beast mode would probably look pretty neat if the feet were standing on the saddle bags instead of straddling Wreck-Gar but, I don't know if Wreck-Gar is long enough for that.

 

yeah the gorilla legs had to be sacrificed in order for the legs to look good in robot/cyclonus succed away the budget .anyways back to the topic of who can ride wreck-gar

heavy load/quick mix can sit better in his normal mode but he's too tall to reach the handles. in work mode he requires more adjusting. this image had some cheating as his right foot is on the ground.

I should put Cyclonus on Wreck-Gar tomorrow. Wreck-Gar would go hella fast if Cyclonus tucks its feet in and exposes the jet engine exhaust ports #SupermanStunt . . .

 

In case of dino attack, Hot Rod and Wreck-Gar need an upgrade.

This thread is what convinced me to finally get the new Wreck-Gar. I've especially loved seeing the photos with older figures or ones from different lines, so here's my contributions. I can't remember the last time I had this much fun with an altmode.
