    YouTube (Legacy):
    - The story seems to involve an artifact (based off of what has been rumored)
    - Unicron is involved once again
    - Globe-trotting
    - Cons (aka Terrorcons) that are mostly black/gray
    - Weird naming choices

This movie is seems be closer to the Bay films (which were bad) than Bumblebee (which was good). I mean, do you have evidence this movie will be good? It goes both ways. We're all just speculating here.

Almost every other Transformers continuity features Unicron. That’s the equivalent of saying this movie going to be like TLK because Optimus and Bumblebee are in it.

I grouped these two together because I disagree with them for the same reason, because you’re attributing things that are prevalent in modern Hollywood movies to being distinguishing factors of the Bayverse.

So I obviously can’t 100% refute this because we haven’t seen the designs. However, from what we’ve seen of the alt modes I feel like the case can only be made with Scourge, and even then reports on the robot mode describe orange energy emanating from him.

Because Bumblebee was completely exempt from this (cough Blitzwing cough).

Essentially, I don’t see it as a sound argument mainly because these factors listed weren’t even remotely instrumental in why Bayverse failed. If you were to remove these variables from the Bay movies, they would have still turned out to be shit because of the writing and characters.

Hunting for an artifact is a typical plot device used for most fiction stories, Transformers isn’t an exception to this. Artifact hunting was used for TFP and Armada especially in regards to finding buried minicons.

Unicron is used for most TF eras’s

“Globe troting” You mean like in G1 and in UT? The Bay films ain’t the first to do this.

Terrorcons being black/grey well Scourge is an homage to most past elements of his self, so him being a black truck is an homage to RiD Scourge, Nightbird has always had a black/purple color scheme, and Battletrap has an orange colored truck mode so far.

Also their color scheme doesn’t determine the movie’s quality.

As for the names, it’s someone’s take on the franchise. They can give any type of character they make up with a name.

I’m not ready to condemn this movie as a bayverse clone or heck as bad because of some elements you perceive as being similar to the bay films.

Yeah it was knowing that Wheeljack was in the movie and this VW being an unnamed Autobot in the group shot, I just thought it'd be a fair assumption, especially given that the VW is marked as a repair van, which seemed a reasonable fit for Wheeljack's usual function.

I think if anyone said 'Battletrap' for the tow truck, though, it would definitely have been a lucky guess! lol

Is it confirmed that unicron is involved in this movie? It’s just fan speculation and we don’t even know if there’s an artifact involved. The title says rise of the beasts and I think it will focus on that.I don’t what unicron has to do in this.

I don't know if Protoman said it first, but supposedly someone who was invited to the private conference by Paramount in June / July, said that the Terrorcons are sent from Unicron, and therefore they believe that.

Let me ask you this do you have actual proof unicron being in the film or a artifact? Do you have factual evidence that it came from the DIRECTOR himself ? Not some fan made bullshit from people here or clickbaiting websites.Oh really on the baddies being gray and black then I guess we see both see different colors. The number one thing to making a good film is picking a good again DIRECTOR.

I don't believe it. They would never say a name of a big character for this brand and let someone get away with it by telling everyone especially in a private event. The name itself says it all private not public.

Protoman told us about Cheetor and that ended up being true too, so I don't think there is any reason to doubt him.
Most importantly, he said they WEREN'T told Unicron outright, just that the movie staff that received fans and press hinted the Terrorcons worked for "someone bigger" and that he assumed it was Unicron because a Hasbro guy at the same event brought up how Nightbird had Armada Sideways design elements coincidentally.

You're partially right what he said was think "Unicronian" for the Terrocons designs and that they work for someone.

I don't think any of these things are an indicator of the movie's quality. The Bay movies weren't bad because of these things, and Bumblebee wasn't good because of the lack of them. Bumblebee was good because it put an emphasis on likable characters and good storytelling. Whereas Bay's stories and characters tended to be more of a vessel for the action, and suffered as a result.

I feel like Transformers fans have villainized totally harmless things. There are countless examples of great globe-trotting movies, and movies that revolve around some sort of artifact or MacGuffin. Not to mention that sort of stuff was very common in G1, in in most subsequent cartoons. It's weird that "globe trotting" and "MacGuffin" are treated as bad words here. You could make an argument that weird naming choices and boring color schemes don't do the brand justice, but they don't really affect the quality of the movie.

They didn't tell him straight up, at best it was merely alluded too. It might've just been the case that Protoman inferred that they were hinting at Unicorn.
