Legacy is the new overall name, no mention of a trilogy and no subname under Legacy

Hmm strange the past two Generations lines have been trilogies.

Interesting, so I'm guessing wave 5 of Kingdom will drop in March 2022 then maybe? I'm curious if anything else will be released in the time between now and March, and between March and May/July.

Prime wars wasn't initially a trilogy until part way through titans return. None of the figures had any sort of trilogy branding except shuttle blastoff, repugnus and punch/counterpunch from 2018

They might have refresh waves or something too. I was actually surprised to see July 1 for Legacy Wave 1!

Gotcha, I was under the impression each generation line is a trilogy. I guess Legacy could just be a one off for now.

Legacy could also just be the new name for what is traditionally Generations moving forward since Generations now encompasses the "updates" line as well as Studio Series.

Legacy is generic enough to be an ongoing branding, like Studio Series. I'm sure we'll know more in the oncoming months!

That makes more sense actually then making it a standard trilogy. Are we gonna use the term Chugl now? Haha :lol

Technically Generations still applies, there's just 2 sublines (studio series and legacy) that will each have their own sublines

Understood. I guess we will have to wait and see what Hasbro plans to do with the Generations line in a years time. I personally think being bound by the rule of three is kinda limiting anyways. I don’t mind if Legacy isn’t a standard trilogy.

I wonder if the next Fan First Friday won’t show up til early next year.

Same tbh, it might be due to manufacturing and shipping delays brought on by COVID and other stuff.

Man first a computer chip shortage crises and now a shipping crises. Things aren’t well in the world.

I know at one point Evolution was brought up as a subname (still listed like that on Amazon), but I think you are right. I'm guessing that they decided to lose the trilogy aspect, or maybe they will just push back the announcement. I'm hoping they don't do another trilogy because it sets up expectations and really screws up what stores want to order.

Indeed, I’m in favor of Hasbro ignoring the rule of three for future lines. I always thought the concept of a trilogy was limiting.

Agreed, and Legacy is a good name for a catch all updates line, so I'd love for that to be the name moving forward and them not feeling the need to rebrand it every year. I mean hell, how long has Marvel Legends been running without any serious rebranding? Leave the rebranding to the lines that are tied to the current kids cartoons.

Agreed. Then everyone wants a significant change with each trilogy's style and each line has to have some gimmick. Take Prime wars, the Combiner Wars and Titans Return had sensible unified gimmicks that had to be a bit overdone, but POTP was half hearted at best.

When did Marvel Legends start up?

What was potp’s main gimmick anyway?

Looking at the design of the new logo for Legacy... it reminds me of Marvel Legends and I wonder if they aren't taking some cues from that. Like dropping the trilogy aspect and just having a line where anyone from any period in any look can show up.
