I think they put too much mass into the “mane”. The rest of him looks scrawny. Almost chibi styled w the big mane.

Is this a final completed product sample or just a test shot? Specifically, will the details on it be getting more paint so it's aesthetically a match with the Decepticon tapes or is that it?

 

I'm just the opposite, I think it looks great!

 

Jaguar doesn’t have much detail… well, none actually, apart from the circle on his shoulders.

 

Close to final, I think the eyes might be unpainted? But could also be that the camera didn't really pick up the metallics of this guy, legs and wings look dull too. Might be painted gold eyes here that just don't show up.

As for additional details....Steeljaw doesn't really have those. In toon he was plain in both modes, in toy his lion mode is. Toy did have an obnoxious decal, but with how this transforms you can't really include that without having it show up in an obnoxious, ugly way.

It's neat that the mold is unchanged from the teased render. Also noticed that there seem to be similarities in transformation with Jaguar, though the sculpts are completely different. Nice work by @jesslynMMC!

I think that's the biggest thing is the matte vs shiny. Hoping it's shiny metallics in the final product, like shown in the photos of the G1 you included, Jess's renders, and as would match the Decepticon OX cassettes.

If you recall, the initial renders had smaller heads and she provided the revised with better-scaled heads. I wonder which scale the head is on the sample, as it does look small (making the "mane" look almost oversized). The image below that you included was the revised larger head, which looks great. Also note the nice shiny metallics.

 

The head is way too small for the body, but otherwise I like it.

 

Is there a livestream for this event and when is FT on?

 

overall liking the mold and what i see. but the flat matte plastic colour is making it a little bland looking.

also agree that the proportions seem a tad off with head being too small or mane too big. maybe it's just the angle in the photo/video. but i think if the head was slightly bigger and perhaps countersunk into the mane, it could look even better.

will definitely continue to keep my eyes on this as i think i'll be picking this up.
