You have to alter the transformation (the video is unfortunately sped up):

    微博视频

Hopefully, this description and the pictures will help anyone struggling with the speed of the video:

    Transform the foot gap filler.

Rotate/rock the ankle rockers down until it looks like the wheels and the side of the tank would be the bottom of the foot. There will be tension and clashing (sort of like when you lock Siege Megatron's ankle rockers in but different).

    20211022_175940.jpg

Untab the hinged piece of tread from the back of the leg.

    20211022_180048.jpg

Swing/fold the front hinged section of the lower leg all the way around and tab it in place like you normally would.

    20211022_180540.jpg

Swing/fold the hinged (the one that connects the entire foot assembly to the "hood" into position like you normally would. There will be a slight clash but, it won't be from the hinge in the foot gap filler if the foot is in the correct position. The clash will be between the corner of the piece that you have circled and the lowest piece near the treads where the mushroom peg is (the peg is really close so I would think long and hard before you do any trimming). If you're super cautious and slightly adjust the ankle rock as you swing/fold, you can minimize the clash to some extent but you have to be vigilant about the toe filler hinge in the process.

    20211022_182752.jpg

Rotate/rock the ankle rockers back into their correct position. There will be tension and clashing (sort of like when you lock Siege Megatron's ankle rockers in but different).

    20211022_182849.jpg

Finish the rest of the leg transformation like normal.

Reverse the process to go back to the robot mode.

I'll mess with it some more, but if I can get it to go more smoothly then the worst thing I can say about the kit is that it's not an exact color match. But the way it fills in the front of the tank more than makes up for that. It's practically essential.

I don't know how I feel about the new DNA kit. I haven't bought any sets yet for these figures, but I think I might still go with the ZX/GX/BDT ones. The colors are all wrong in this set. Primal's mask and Megatron's gun stock are off and I have Netflix Cheetor so the gut gun is off, too.

I didn't realize Pitney Bowes was handling some of the OrangeConnex stuff. Found out after a package didn't move for over a month.

My Go Better van wheels and SL Unicron eyes are stuck or lost somewhere in their system. Seller was nice to send a replacement package at no add'l cost....hopefully won't get stuck in the same place.

1st class USPS mail is also being delayed starting this month thanks to new policies. Great...

Anyhow, I was looking through various parts to find something that could be used for SG Goldbug. The clear BTS trailer has various accessories, including black and blue blasters.

The official upgrade kit transformation process could use just a bit more clearance but, it's bound to be better than trying to flex/force the filler kit and the circled section around each other because those come into contact with each other like wood/metal does when forming a joint. I can't even begin to imagine the force required to make them go beyond their initial contact with each other. I wish that the mushroom joint near the tread went in further. If it did, I would shave off part of the area that sticks out beyond the treads which causes the clash when you swing/fold the hinge assembly that holds the foot to the "hood". It would also be neat if you didn't have to rotate/rock the ankles down like you would when wearing a pair of quads and trying to win a roller skating limbo contest but, that's the trade off for how the foot fillers have to work without partsforming or forcing a perpetual A-stance in robot mode.

For the sake of clarity for those that happen to stumble upon that screencap, they explicitly said in the stream that it doesn't include the stand and that the Haslab Unicron was the only way to obtain the stand. They were just using it to keep everything displayed.

Galvatron could also use a smaller barrel. Did somebody already do that?

And someone could maybe do a conversion kit to turn Generations Selects Galvatron into Shattered Glass Megatron. I think that's probably more worth it than upgrade kits for the new SG Megatron figure.

I find it annoying that they keep releasing accessories for a $6oo figure that you could only order back in 2018.

God yes. Stop trying to make something out of that white flounder and make some kits for the toy that could actually pull off the look.

Yep, even with the add-ons, it's still one of the worst "alt modes" in recent history.

This will probably be an odd request but, does anyone make/sell just 5 mm pegs/posts? I don't need something super long but, I do need something long enough to merge 2 different 5 mm Fossilizer's ports together and there needs to be a bit of empty space between those ports (they can't sit against each other and that empty space needs to be 5 mm). Angle adapters won't work, it has to be just a peg/post. I don't have a ruler handy but, I need a 5 mm post that's not any longer than this section of Paleotrex (from end of the 5 mm peg/post all the way to the end of the other 5 mm peg/post at the bottom of the image):

Takara Transformers Kingdom Paleotrex, Optimus Primal, Netflix Impactor (3)__scaled_600.jpg

That moment when highly dubious fan modes are actually marketed as official modes . . .

Unfortunately, nothing from the US plastic fabs. Any uxcell product on Amazon has the wrong dimensions, so don't order from them either. Any listing that has both metric and standard measurements in whole numbers is not metric. Even import is rather dodgy too. I've bought Tamiya 3mm tubes and rods, which fit perfect. Their 5mm tubes and rods were unfortunately undersized by quite a bit.

Some have tried 5mm metal mini-rods / dowel rods. Metal can easily mess up plastic, so have to be careful with that.

I make my own for various projects but that's not realistic for most people to try: make a bubble-free silicone mold of a 5mm drill bit and then make a bubble-free solid resin casting (that's stronger and more reliable than Hastak plastic).

You could ask one of the 3d print peeps to see if they can make a peg, but I'm not sure if it'll be strong enough for what you need as 3d parts tend to have low tensile strength.

I am trying one last 5mm rod from a US source before I resort to trying import ones. My drill bits are only so long. I'll see how that goes. If it works, then you could just saw off pegs to size.

Does that work? That was the closest thing I could think of

I agree about metal being risky. I don't want anything rubbery but, a short 5 mm piece of metal would be ultra rigid. I think it would result in damage even if it was 100% perfectly sized due to being completely unforgiving along with any potential swelling/shrinking from ambient temperature changes.

It doesn't need to support a lot but, I'm not sure if 3D printing would be strong enough. I foolishly hadn't considered the tensile strength so, thank you for bringing that up.

That sounds pretty straight forward compared to what most people think of when picturing molds but, like you pointed out, it's not realistic because nothing about making molds nor casts is ever simple.

Thank you but unfortunately, it doesn't. I don't know how long those pieces are, I would have to try to remove that ridge/collar in the center, and I don't know about their tensile strength (I'm not merging accessories/weapons). Those might be useful for something else down the road though.
