Oh don't worry, I'll get plenty of the stuff I want as it is. At this point in my life I'm far more enthusiastic in Star Saber than the Rancor (which is funny, I grew up with Star Wars far more than TF. In fact, TF wasn't really a part of my childhood).

It's just something that would be really neat to have. Especially since as a kid I quite literally had dreams about a Rancor toys this articulated. We'll see where I'm at by the end of this campaign. After Unicron I kinda don't want to spend more than ~$200 on a single thing again, at least only for really important stuff.

Yeah you have plenty of time to decide, no rush. Yeah Unicron was way out of my budget if I had the opportunity to back him. I’m glad star saber went for a reasonable price. The least expensive haslab project I think.

Heroquest cost either $100 or $150 depending on the tier you backed. Either way that was the cheapest project so far. But Victory Saber is the second.

I do wish I backed Heroquest honestly. I fully expected my friend with the original (who collects boardgames and miniatures, doesn't paint them, just collects them) to back it. But whatever, not a big loss.

Didn’t pay attention to it. Is that some kind of DnD type set?

Kinda? A little bit. The original had minis made by Games Workshop (the Warhammer 40k/fantasy guys), so there were Fimirs and Chaos Knights which the new Hasbro version doesn't have, since GW still owns those.

Basically, there are four classes, Barbarian, Wizard, Dwarf, and Elf. You don't roll stats or anything, your stats are based on your class. The GM can use a book to come up with the dungeons, or make up there own (that's what I did the one time a ran a game).

You also use the various furniture pieces to decorate and layout the dungeon. It's really fun, especially if your like me and like the idea of DnD, but don't have the patience/confidence to create a whole character and roleplay super hard.

Too bad the original is extremely rare now and has a strong cult following making it super expensive on the after market.

Was thinking with hasbro having not 1 but 2 supplement packs for unicron, I kinda expect victory saber to have at least one; but the question is what would or who be in it.

My wife showed me Rancor and asked if was okay to buy it. :)

She and I compete for Collection space. She with Star Wars and me with my Macross, Space Battleship Yamato, GI Joe, and Transformer collection.

Nah, I just couldn't get into his bot mode at all.

Had I gotten him, it would've been for his gorgeous planet mode, but yeah, lack of space helped my decision not to get him.

2 supplement packs? What's the other pack aside from the reformatting Galvatron?

The Centurion Drone, while it didn’t have as many small figures as the reformatting Gal, that was the pack that had Optimus Prime.

Oh yes, that's true. I get that they were trying to do his beast mode for the combiner, but Sky Lynx's body type hardly matches him.

Siege has the weaponizers and the notion of combining weapons and blast effects and hard points to attach them. Earthrise has that "AIR LOCK system" thing of ramps that enable some figures with base modes to attach to each other. I would argue that linewide gimmicks still exist, it's just that 1) they aren't on every single figure in the line, and 2) aren't as obtrusive on figures that do have the gimmick. The AIR LOCK ramp gimmick is on a number of figures, but it doesn't seem to be a very utilized one, since rarely does anyone appear to mention it. It also seems hardly obtrusive on figures that do have it, as I have yet to see anyone complain about its presence on say ER Optimus' trailer, or that fold out panel on Fasttrack, or Sky Lynx's base mode.

I question the notion that the torso figure in the Liokaiser boxset is not Deathsaurus. Arguing that he isn't because of a different name doesn't seem like a strong reason, since characters frequently get name changes due to things like Hasbro losing a trademark or the original name being inappropriate for a children's toy. Two other figures in the same boxset (Fellbat and Ironbison) also sport changed names, and there's not much doubt as to who they are supposed to be. I don't see how one can argue that those figures are Hellbat and Killbison, but Dezarus is not Deathsaurus. Clearly, the name Deathsaurus is not appropriate to give to a toy meant for worldwide distribution to kids, so it was changed.

As mentioned, I'm neutral on what Hasbro adds or does not to a new Deathsaurus figure. I just want one to go with Star Saber. I do think though, that he could have say blast effects like those that came with Lionizer, except bigger, to attach to his wings to simulate his death wing attack.
