No, your post is the ignorant one here considering my experience level vs. yours. If anything my standards when watching any show or film are higher because of said experience. You're projecting your opinion onto something you know little to nothing about.

And there are plenty of ways to mimic firing a gun that are plenty effective that are used all the time (like the REFs @Dark Skull posted) and you've never noticed.

But it's a damn shame that the developing story is that they used non union people to get the film completed, in addition to skipping safety meetings. If IATSE folks were walking off set hours before this then there had already been multiple reports and complaints to the producers/studio.

This is sounding more and more like they were trying to be cheap and weren't following safety rules. In which case it's likely their fault as Baldwin was a producer on the movie. But I'll wait to hear more and not make any snap judgements yet, but the recent news of the crew quitting before it happened is not a sign in their favor.

If you've fired a gun enough, you actually can recreate how your body reacts to recoil. It's actually not hard. You can record yourself firing the firearm (safely at a range might I add) and then stand there with a training gun, or a dummy gun and practice it. Aside from the fact that there's info coming out that Alec Baldwin was rehearsing the scene and decided to pull the trigger anyway, well...it just doesn't look good.

I mean, for a lot of action movies, a lot of actors and actresses have gone to ranges to train. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

If it proves true that the producers pushed to hire non-union crew to meet a deadline then you're probably right that the fault will land at their feet. The union folks even being willing to walk off set is a big indication that not only were their safety concerns and complaints not being addressed but there was pressure from higher up.

But however this shakes out its still a damn tragedy. A person died because of carelessness, and that's sad and terrible for the entire industry. Hopefully some meaningful change will come of it.

I feel for the victim that was fallen by the idiot unless they had the same mentality as Baldwin. However, Baldwin like many other Hollywood fuckers wishes harm and death to half of America...so karma is a bitch on him
