Right now I'm just happy that it's been pretty much confirmed that we're getting the whole season 1 cast in their normal beast-to-bot forms. Honestly to me, anything after that is gravy.

Mutant Soundwave is one expensive-ass figure to obtain online LOL. Saw a MISB go for $200+ a couple weeks back, haven't looked for loose TBH, but i've noticed an up-tick in selling prices for some obscure BW figures as well as the yet un-released key characters such as Silverbolt (whom I splurged on an MISB), Inferno, Rampage, and Depth Charge.

Since I had my late little brother's Depth Charge (sans Tail and weapons), I hunted online and found the weapons. Not cheap to obtain, but cheaper than buying an all new one ($125-150 +). Totally worth it given the personal connection and that I loved Depth Charge's character. He stands proudly on my desk now. Sorry for the rant, while I love G1, Beast Wars hits my heart in a different way. So I'm happy I found this thread!

Is anyone else getting the feeling Legacy Megs might come with a translucent red plastic flame (Energon-infused weapon) accessory?

The TF team did request a flame effect. I'm hoping it made it through the costing process, fingers crossed! :)

Any insights on Tarantulas and Inferno? Some webbing or flames accessories?

I know that for Tarantulas they requested both his TM and original weapon. I think they were planning for the saw blade one to be clear plastic 'energon' and for them to combine into a super weapon.
Not sure if that made it through the costing phase.

No new info on Inferno and nothing about webbing.
Might have to hope for 3rd party add on kits.

Looks like they all come with OG weapons AND an energon weapon. Bit worried about the budget there

It's interesting to look at Skids' grey blasters, as they combine into a larger weapon:

It makes me think about the Original Inferno figure:

His mandibles are also two pieces that combine into a larger weapon. It will be interesting to see if this little feature is repeated in the Legacy figure.

He can also form a mega blaster from all three weapons. It's the gimmick of this line, much like in TF Energon. So yes, I am 90% sure, we'll get something like this with inferno. Something that looks like the inner piece possibly being the energon weapon and somehow attaching to the main show accurate weapon

That bodes well for us then.

I hadn't picked up on the 5mm ports on the wrecking ball.

It’s a what-if version of Tasmania kid from the BWII pilot, he imagined himself with other beast modes before scanning a Taz Devil by accident.

Yes, good, Magnaboss and Tripredacus in Earth Wars.

The War For Cybertron Trilogy had combining components, Legacy is returning to actual Combiners, plus weapons that combine. (Hopefully) gone are the dark days of Combiner Wars when everyone had to be able to combine with everyone else, so we can get some unique Combiner toy designs, like Magnaboss and Tripredacus.

    @Apollux

With the request forms you've mentioned, do they cover whether it's a new figure or a partial/retool? I ask with the upcoming Dragon Megs in mind, and whether it gives any indication on it being a new figure or a partial/retool of Kingdom T-Rex Megs.

Great question, yes they specify/ask for the feasibility of retools when putting in the engineering request.

Sometimes if it's a new mold but could be used as a base for another character they even ask if it's possible to engineer the initial figure with that in mind.

In this case Dragon Megs was requested as a New Mold. Which makes sense as to my knowledge we have 1 New Mold, 1 Partial (Laser Prime) and 1 Package Refresh (Galvatron) coming inthe mainline in 2022.

So there's hopefully enough budget to make an awesome Dragon Megatron. :)

    Cheers!

Out of curiosity, do you have any indication of if they're going to "de-transmetalize" the dragon Megatron in a similar manner to the Pulsecon Ravage figure or if it'll keep the more mechanical/organic hybrid aspects of the original Transmetal 2s? I realize you may not have that info, but the answer could provide an indication of if Transmetals are on the table in the near future. Also curious if you know whether Tarantulas is more based on his Season 1 design or the IDW design where he's an organic version of his Transmetal design?
