That's exactly what I'll be doing, sold my FE version today in favor of this one because I want a Bulkhead that matches the rest of my collection

I like the idea of a G1 interpretation, but I think the execution on the one we’re getting is weak.

Give him a single glass windshield and a different head sculpt he could pass for a reimagined Ironhide.

Yeah, it feels like this mold was a leftover from Earthrise that Hasbro didn't know what to do with, then they went, "well just slap Bulkhead's head on it and call it a day".

It just feels like a generic design that they can easily retool into Optimus/Magnus/Grapple/Inferno.

That would be a great idea, when there’s toys that just plain nailed it and you can’t improve upon.

I really haven't cared to voice an opinion about this since I'm not planning on buying the toys but I think what has caused all this uproar about Bulkhead is that the initial leaks only specified that we were going to get a Prime Bulkhead in Legacy. With no other info to go on, I think a lot of people got their hopes up for a new version of the character model from the Prime TV show.

Now understanding the formula of Legacy, and imagining this reveal if we had no prior knowledge of the leaks, I can see how this new Bulkhead actually works. It's a G1 Bulkhead. Sure it could afford to be a bit bulkier in the legs but it carries out the goal of taking an existing character and inserting it into the G1 aesthetic. It follows the same formula as Siege and Earthrise Barricade and it works. No complaints about it from me.

Tbf there were leaks saying that it would look the way it does. If you were paying attention to leaks and you knew that then you did it to yourself. But with the amount of leaks it’s hard to keep track of and not everybody paying attention I can see how some may have been surprised and disappointed.

Fair enough. I was in the camp of people who didn't pay that close attention to the leaks so that's on me.

Hopefully when more of the line gets revealed a lot of this initial criticism will settle down.

Yeah fair enough, there’s been so many leaks the past couple of months that it’s hard to keep up lol. I mean I love this design but I totally get others apprehension. But yeah I’m sure that, according to leaks, seeing the other 8ish wave one figures will cause a lot more hype. There’ll be something for everyone (almost lol).

It is the G1 aesthetic, but I think the designers were going for something like the original mission of Classics toyline ... new takes on old characters.

I guess Skids is more g1 and doesn't fit that concept, but maybe that is how the Prime characters are going to turn out in this line.

The G1 version looks fine to me seeing as I am unfamiliar with this character. After a quick search, I can why fans of him would be disappointed.

Maybe a 3P will release an upgrade kit to make him more show accurate.

I'd settle for Hasbro finally revealing the Revenge of the Fallen Sideswipe that has been showing up at retail already. Give me that and all you can have the new hotness of Legacy.

Given the silhouette of the body, my man that would be a completely new figure.
