Great display! As for suggestions: Remove the Ninja Turtles, Black Arachnia, TE BW Scorponok, maybe Windblade, the Movie Ultra Magnus, the little kreos, and KO CW Megatron. Black Arachnia and Scorponok would be better off on a BW shelf, Windblade kinda sticks out for some reason, the ninja turtles and kreos don't fit in with the rest, Movie white Magnus in the back doesn't fit with the theme, and CW Megatron just isn't up to snuff with the other stuff you have on the shelf and he doesn't fit with the theme. Use the space now available to spread everything out a bit and you've got yourself an even greater display.

My 80s room so far. In the process of reworking the shelf lighting and need those season 3 and 4 combiners to fill out the shelves.

Here are some of my shelf themes

    20210908_020149-01_adobespark.jpeg

All of them are works in progress. For the sharkticon display I'm waiting on the reissue of GP Grimlock to replace MP-08 to fill out the space more... For the minibot display I'm working on a mini tealight campfire. Finally for the Devastator display I plan on adding more foliage and rocks to the road.

    Just finished mine up.

2x New White Billy bookcases with, with 4 top shelves used for each, total of 8 shelves. 4 of these shelves in glass, the rest in wood. Doors. Norfolk LED lighting + power cable + adapter. Wow, cost me 500$ for the none toy part of it...

Anyways, will try to take pictures, but boy do i both LOVE my shelves, and super depressed at how much i spent on them.

New additions: GP Slag and GP Sludge, remaining is GP Grimlock, if i still breath or have money by the time it finally releases, which is a BIG if. It's ok though, eventhough i want to add it, it is not an absolute must, Slag and Sludge are doing extremely well on their own and look complete as a shelf, for bot mode anyways.

Missing that i dont know if i can or will be able to get: FT Huffer (on PO w/ deposit) / FT Trailbreaker (on PO w/ deposit) / FT Soundwave (on PO w/ deposit, but might cancel actually) / FT Bandit (probably i wont be able to afford / finish the team)

I really love your minibots and sharkticons dioramas. Really well done and admirable.

I dont have GP Grimlock yet (on PO, but no idea by the time it release if i can still afford), but start looking at pictures of those who succeeded to have him in dino mode in the stance you have your MP Grimlock in, because apparently the legs are weak in some joints, so there is a trick i think i saw a member do.

I am not the author of this pic, and this is just a guess, but i think from this picture the trick is on the middle/knee joint being forward vs backward, which i put a red rectangle on area. I have concluded that as i have seen many pics putting this joint the reverse way and mentioning they had issue with stabilizing him in alt mode and had to have him in the more standing position like the toon. Anyways, you would need to ask actual owners of the toy to be sure. I myself need him in the same pose you have him.

I'm not sure what you mean. My GP stands just fine with the knees back.

Unless that wouldn't work leaning further forward? [Edit] Just checked - he stands just fine with knees back even when his body is parallel to the ground.

Been working on my Transformers room for awhile. I think I can say it’s about how I want it now. Maybe just upgrade the bots as I acquire new versions. Interesting, thanks for sharing. I remember reading that many members were having issue with dino mode doing this or further down actually.

That looks spectacular. I especially like the alt mode comparisons.

Question: not necessarily directed at you specifically, but those of you who have a room dedicated to toys, what do you do with it? Do you find you spend much time in there or is it more of a walk in and look around once a week kind of thing?

2E657229-AC50-4FF6-BCB8-C81433B2F6BA.jpeg Thank you for the compliment. Part of the 80s magic growing up was the space battle murals on the back of the boxes and the catalog checklists showing all the toys in each mode. I tried to emulate both of those things in my “mega-detolf”.

As for what I do with such a room? Relax and read on the couch in there on a lazy weekend. I used to have a bed in there and it doubled as a guest room but I took it out to make room for more shelves. However I also have a Star Wars room. That one still has a guest bed ;-)

Normally I go in with a purpose. To take pics, add new additions, or adjust the display. I don't normally go in to just look.

I reorganized my Legends collection after getting a new display cabinet.
I think I have them grouped satisfactorily, but I have a few new additions that haven't been added yet.

Shelf breakdown, because I like having subgroups and reasons for them. Inspired by Dreamwave, IDW, and G1:

Beast Wars. The only two I have right now facing off.

    The Fallen and his Disciples.

Swindle's Misfit crew. Weapons Dealer (Swindle), Hired Muscle (Runabout and Runamuck), and Partner in Crime (Exhaust)

    Starscream's Brigade
Split from the main Decepticon force after Megatron's disappearance. (If he can't rule the Decepticons, he'll start his own faction) Followed by his fellow Seekers and the Combaticons.

    Decepticons
After Megatron's disappearance, Straxus was free to move forward with his plans and launched an offensive on Earth. The Stunticons and Coneheads being his main force. Shockwave following him, for now. The last Autobot on Earth is Jazz (NA). Things are looking grim, but he has hope for reinforcements.

    Autobots
After Optimus Prime's disappearance, Dai Atlas reluctantly took command of the Autobots. Ultra Magnus and Prowl are his #1 and #2. Dai Atlas has no love for Earth and has left it all but abandoned. Instead focusing on taking back Cybertron. Major setbacks include the Ultracon Ambush and the return of Nova Prime.

    The Lightning Strike Coalition
Led by Grimlock, split from the Autobots after OP's disappearance. Prime was weak, and he's gone. Dai Atlas is weaker, now Grimlock find his own way. Has had some success with hit and run tactics against the Decepticon factions on Cybertron.

    The Ultracons
Split after you guessed it. Overlord sees himself as above all others. Has coerced/scared/bargained to build his faction. Notable members include Trypticon and Devastator.

    Nova Prime's Elite Guard
Recently returned to Cybertron after a lengthy expansion crusade. Nova is sporting new armor and a thirst to conquer. He already took out Omega Supreme.

    The Loyalists
Decepticons loyal to Megatron. When he returns, they will rise to the occasion. No questions asked.

    Delta Team
Sent to find Optimus. This specialized team has completed their mission. Found dying on the planet Nebulos, Optimus had little hope. The Nebulans and Transformers came together to save him. With newfound power and armor, will Powermaster Optimus Prime and Delta Team be able to stop the rampaging Decepticons and reunite the Autobots? Tune in next time!

My work from home recently became permanent so I figured it was time to convert my art/work room into an office. Well, half of it anyway - all the art and customizing supplies are in the other half of the room. Also recently my wife started complaining about just how overrun the living room has become with my collection. Well that's two birds and what's an office without toys anyway, so I decided to kill both birds with my office stone.

    PXL_20211022_003039588~2.jpg

Mostly just the random stuff that had no specific place in our living room and was contributing to the overcrowded look.

And some Ikea Ekets - mini wall mounted cabinets. I'm already out of space but I could only afford to throw so much at this project and the desk and office chair took up most of it. I plan to add four or five more of those shelves eventually. My double detolf will also probably come in here once my next moducase order comes in (gonna need some creative rearranging - the room is already pretty full - but I'm pretty sure I can pull it off. Still working on the other half of the room - need to find places to put all the random stuff strewn over my crafting and painting tables and get my 3d printers set up again, but that's not really shelf theme related.

[Edit] Shit, forgot that Nicee was in a couple of these. Censored her to preserve our site's precious delicate sensibilities.

Dang, those Ekets are super nice! How are they at keeping dust out, they seem to not have a perfect seal around the glass door.

No, they definitely don't seal. I haven't had them long enough for any substantial amount of dust to build up but if they're anything like a detolf, they'll reduce dust buildup quite a bit. I've had my MP collection in a double detolf for something like three years and there's less dust in there than would build up in a couple of months anywhere else in my living room, with most of it being in the immediate vicinity of the door gaps.

If you're interested, I think I paid something like $35 each and that includes the eket, the glass door, and the rail for attaching it to the wall. I used two toggle style wall anchors for each one as well as putting a screw into a stud (they're small enough that none of them could reach two studs, hence the heavy duty wall anchors). They're a little over 13" cube with just over 12" cube of interior space. They're not great for larger figures - the Bumblebee movie figures barely fit even though there's only three of them - but they do pretty well for smaller stuff. I particularly like how the Arcee shelf turned out. I'm also using acrylic risers in some of them to raise the figures in the rear and make the most of the front to back space.

Did you buy the Billy with glass doors? Or add aftermarket glass doors? I'm wanting to go this route too and like your setup.

From ikea, in Canada, the shelves are 55$
Each door, from ikea, is 40 to 50$, and you need two per billy. There are 2 to 3 different kinds, I got the one with a white cardboard on the glass, which can be removed, as they simply didn’t have the fulll board ones anymore. They are necessary to hide everything and make it more neat/professional.
One can buy separate glass shelves to replace the board ones, for 25$ each, and it does give more light and is more professional, yes,, but I feel I should have saved the Money and kept the original white boards,
And the lights are a fortune, but the Norfolk, as bobby said, are extremely professional and good, and convenient. But remote isn’t necessary for those that have a morliden door like me which hides everything as they turn off by themselves when no light, and are light activated.
