I’m about three hours in to SSHD and really enjoying it. The motion control is a bit wonky but I don’t feel like it’s as bad as the Wii, at least it hasn’t seriously annoyed me yet. I tried out the buttons only style and was fine with how that works.

Graphics are excellent. Aside from constantly wanting to jump and climb (you ruined me, BotW!), I’m having a blast.

Bought a bootleg off eBay since I didn't secure a Master Edition back then.... Don't think theres even a legit statue on eBay right now anyways. Paid $30, worth $20 at most, but it'll do for when I get around to displaying my F4F statues.

You know, for a product that was criticized for being "hard-to-find" and "commonly scalped" I sure see a lot of the SS Zelda Amiibos in retail.

I just remembered earlier that the 2nd DLC pack for Age of Calamity wasn't released yet and it looks like its next Friday. That'll definitely keep me occupied for a week before the Animal Crossing DLC releases aha

I got a couple of sleeves. One is from Rad Racer and the other... I don't know, maybe TMNT, Super Mario Bros./Duck Hunt or Final Fantasy.

Picked up the G&W at Walmart. Didn't know it was $43.50.
Still have one coming from Amazon that I preordered. Weird that I preordered it and it's coming in on Tuesday, but when it was available again for purchase yesterday, it would've been delivered on Monday.

Okay, gave the G&W a whirl. It's a nifty little machine but about what you'd expect. I've played the G&W game and Zelda 1. Just two nags:

    1. The Start button is directly over the A button, which causes me to mis-press on occasion.
    2. The game does NOT save when you turn the machine off. You'll need to save the old fashion way by killing Link to get to the save screen.

The latter feels like a huge misstep. It'd be great to be able to save my game exactly where I'm at and turn the console off. With modern tech, this is almost inexcusable. While it's definitely old-school, I thought we were beyond these limitations with consoles like the NES mini existing with on-board save states.

I like the convenience of save states...but it almost feels like cheating...haha.

I'm about halfway through my goal of finishing all of the Zelda games out there...probably only need another 25 years and another console or two to get it done! My favorite so far is really hard to pick. Zelda II was my first and will always be special. But I think it comes down to ALBW...narrowly edging out Ocarina and LTTP. They're all so good.

    Completed so far:
    The Legend of Zelda
    Zelda II
    Link's Awakening
    A Link to the Past
    Ocarina of Time
    Phantom Hourglass
    Spirit Tracks
    A Link Between Worlds

    To be completed:
    Majoras Mask
    Oracle of Seasons
    Oracle of Ages
    Minish Cap
    Wind Waker
    Twilight Princess
    Skyward Sword
    Breath of the Wild
Four Swords and Triforce Heroes are maybes...

People hate on Zelda II a lot because it's so different from what is now considered "normal" for the series but it was the first one I actually owned so it will be special for me too. I'd love to see a modern remake.

No doubt. It was the first one I ever owned or played myself. We saw it in the store and got it because we had been told how good TLOZ was…assumed Zelda II must be even better…despite the fact that we had never played or even seen TLOZ. Lol. 12 year old logic right there…haha. We got TLOZ about a year later and I hated it at first! It looked like a kiddy cartoon game by comparison. I love Zelda II to this day. The swordplay and control are still a ton of fun. I consider Ocarina a bit of a spiritual successor to Zelda II. And, there are references to Zelda II all over Zelda gaming history in the names, some of the items and other references as well. It’s a black sheep, but some of the DNA has persisted.
