Of course I hope that the new film continuity is done really well but if I had to pick one part of it that had to be done right it's Dinobots last stand. Not the bullshit we got in WFC or some forced crap. But a buildup to it and him going out like an absolute champion as he did in the original Beast Wars series. Dinobot had the best character arc in all of Transformers and one of the most badass death scenes in history. I really hope to see it done right on the big screen.

If Dinobot is ever reused again, I hope they don’t just kill him off for a story arc. It doesn’t need to be repeated ad nasuem.

I'd actually like to see Dinobot stay as a predacon in a future incarnation, the redemption story has already been done perfectly and trying to replicate it would just be doing it a disservice.

I think the best direction to take the character is to make him a predacon lieutenant whose vicious, rude, and irritable but also has a sense of honor and isn't just going to stab his peers in the back or execute an unarmed maximal unlike the other predacons.

Id give him a relationship with megatron similar to starscream in that hes constantly questioning and disagreeing with his decision making but Megatron puts up with it since hes the best fighter in the predacons, but I wouldn't make Dinobot actively trying to overthrow him or anything.

It's part of what Dinobot so great. I'm not saying kill him off in his first appearance there has to be build up and it has to be done right.

But then all you're doing is creating the next joke/meme in this franchise for Dinobot. Like with Optimus Prime, his first death was a shock to many in the fandom, now it's been a running gag about him dying and coming back to life over the life time of this franchise. Dinobot has already died twice (fourth if you wanna count his clones). I love his character arc, but it doesnt need to be replicated again and again. It's also bad writing to just reuse plot points again and again.

Dinobots sacrifice in Code of Hero is my all time favourite transformers moment and one of my favourite tf moments in general. I'd love to see it redone right on the big screen and I'd like casual movie goers to experience it. I'm not saying make it a shot for shot remake or anything.

I don't like the idea of Dinobot being 'doomed' to just repeat the same storyline again and again.

To be honest, I'd rather not kill Dinobot again. Let's have the Knightverse version live.

How's that for a twist? . (also, I already feel bad for Cliffjumper).

One of the worst things about the Bayverse movies was their habit of killing off characters with great potential (usually before they became characters). I'd like the Knightverse to go the opposite way.

Of course, maybe 20,30 movies later, Dinobot could pull an Iron Man - but only if he feels like it:) .

I didn't say kill him off bayverse style. I meant give him proper build up and heaps of character time before he goes out like a champ just like in Beast Wars.

Got that. It's just, I'm thinking, why not give him a sort of 'happily ever after', this time?

Well it was a sort of bittersweet ending for him the first time around. It just doesn't feel like the same character if he just gets to survive happily ever after the whole point of him was that he's a tragic and conflicted character and he had the most perfectly done send off of any transformers character.
