It be more shocking if that package refresh ends up being based on the Wal-Mart Exclusive Netflix Retool rather than Siege Soundwave.

I want to support the addition of more non G1 characters into the generations line, but I just cannot get behind this bulkhead. He has everything I don’t like in a transformer including extreme blockiness, partsforming that rivals er ironhide, and clear plastic.

I’m probably alone here but he is the worst looking generations figure I’ve seen this year.

    Hey kids! Look! Its......

    BULKBRICK!!!
    BulkBrick.jpg

    and SKIDBOX!!
    Skidbox.jpg

I know people call G1 figures "bricks" but the Hasbro design team really took that theme and ran off the cliff with it!

I kid, I kid, but Bulkhead really couldve used a few more angles besides just 90 degree ones. These both are pretty square so they dont have as much visual interest as they could.

Im still buying them, Im just not jumping for as much joy about it as I wish I was.

The last 3 were the only slavishly g1 line in a while, and while that was nice, saying a Bulkhead could work outside of that style is mental, maybe not this super bubbly one but one that both still had the chunky look while also having the egdes that the generations line liked to keep, its even in the comics

I hope they revealed this two first because they are the weakest toys of the wave 1 and we will see a very mind blowing toys at Pulsecon

I mean it definitely wouldn't be a bad idea considering how rediculously scalped that release was, and the fact we have a Blaster coming up. If it's a voyager though it'd be sans tape-decks.

So I like Skids, I thought there was some nostalgic reason behind the panel being attached to his head....but I don\'t see that in any prior art.  It\'s still a decent car mold I\'ll probably still bite.

I know what it says, but it seems as far as Hasbro is concerned, they consider it separate.
They don't call it "Transformers Generations Studio Series". They call it just "Transformers Studio Series"
Really not that hard to understand.

Where you put them on your shelf is of no concern to me.

I don't even get why some people think G1 designs can't have curves when we just got a bunch of toys of Floro Dery's movie designs, which are significantly curvier and more angular than most G1 Season 1 and 2 robots, but you'll never see anyone say "needed to be blockier". Bulkhead could've had exaggerated proportions and less blocky and simplistic features and he would still fit the G1 art style.

The listing is "S Soundwave Pr" so it's definitely the Siege release, which is weird because it doesn't really fit with the rest of this line other than I guess to go with Blaster.

noh. only blocky, no curves. All G1 designs are just blocky bricky bread loaves.

To look at this in a more fairer light, I don't hate the robot mode I just don't like the vehicle mode they went with. The boxy front of the cab makes for a really boring vehicle mode when some angles could've really helped the overall visual look for both it and the robot mode.

Robot mode looks fine, it'll be fun to combine him with Earthrise Ironworks, that's for sure!

Yeah but most people say "Generations" as in G1 style chug.
People don't see SS movie verse as Generations/ chug.

My guess it's less they'll form something specific (though don't count it out as a potential backdoor BAF) and more that it's recreating the Energon Weapons from the UT.

So you'll be able to configure them how you'd like.

    It's pretty simple imo

if you name it after the show
make it look like the show
